NIT, Rourkela: Expert Guidance and Supportive Learning

Overall Rating
Honestly, overall experience for at NIT, Rourkela is excellent. Here you'll find very interesting clubs to grow very well in career which you find more interesting. Our institute has very good NIRF ranking. Here you'll get perfect environment for your professional growth. It is almost one of the top engineering institutes in India due to its high placement statistics. Also, the campus life of this institute is very beautiful due to its beautiful location.
 

Academics Rating
I choose B.Tech in Food Processing here. The faculties are very supportive and clear your every single minor doughty in the class. We just need to attend our classes attentively to score good in exams. The reason why I choose this course is because I'm more interested in food related technologies and I'll developed my career in it. To enter in this institute we need to qualify JEE Mains exam with good percentile. Admission process is very easy and guided here. Frequency of exams in my course is bearable.
As a SC candidate in first semester my fee was Rs. 74,000 and from second semester onwards fee was Rs. 49,000.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties at NIT, Rourkela are very supportive and experienced. They are very well educated from top universities in India and foreign too. Most of them prefer to teach on smart boards with projectors. Problem solving abilities of faculties are excellence. I had many good memories with professor like asking doubts regarding tests, assignment and they helped me to understand the core concept of every single doubt that I asked them in class.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, placement is present here; they guide students about how to make CV, presentation, etc. and also give instructions about interviews. Many companies’ visits here like Google, Microsoft, Meta, YouTube, Oracle, IBM, Godrej, Instagram, etc. Average package is around 12 to 13 LPA and highest is around 1.2 CPA . I am in 1st year so can't comment much.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, NIT, Rourkela offers hostel for the students studying here. They provide one room in which 2 people are living together and at the final year they might provide you single rooms. Food in mess is just average but healthy. Hostel has certain time limit after which students can’t go outside at night. Each wing is provided with geezer, clean toilets, bathroom, etc.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure of NIT, Rourkela is absolutely amazing. Here there is so much Greenery and some ponds in the campus which will make you feel like heaven. We got library, Labs and canteen. Locality is good here I think railway station is near about 8 kilometers and airport is around 15 kilometers. So reaching the campus is very easy task. We have big class classrooms. Yeah there is also a big hall in the campus (Bhubhanesver Behera Auditorium). My favorite is swimming pool here.
 

Campus Rating
My campus life is going absolutely amazing. Institute crowd is not too much, we have around 7000 peoples in campus and the size of campus is quite large so, there no so much crowd. No I am not in any club because I want to focus on academic in 1st year but here are many clubs in my institution related to many fields like music, dancing, robotics, machine learning, etc. I usually attended fest, our fest are very good.

    In an overall view, my institute, NIT Rourkela, is a perfect university with an area of 1,200 acres including many more splendid scenic views and amazing water bodies. I cannot say it is an extraordinary but below lower than my expectation but overall a good Institute through its academics too mess quality and its lush green campus life also.     NIT Rourkela has a very old campus as it is about 50 years old but still the infrastructure is so good. It has the best library in the Rourkela; we can have a lot of stuff like books and research articles. In a year I explored everything in the campus and I like to play cricket here....     I study in NIT Rourkela. I started my journey in 2024. It is an amazing experience for me. The environment and the campus area are too good.
