Scoring High at DSATM Bangalore with Easy Exams and Lenient Marking

Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology is a 2nd tier college. It is the second campus of Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. The college campus is quite big, one has a lot of place to walk around and sit. The college is active in competitions, fests and hackathons from different departments. It has a variety of courses to be chosen from, in which are AICTE approved. The college turned autonomous from the year 2023-24. Right now, its campus placements are centralized with the main campus, making it an advantage over other colleges. Since it is autonomous, exams are not very hard and the marking is lenient, which allows one to score good CGPA. You will find a lot of ways to commute to college. College buses, frequent BMTC buses and metro accessibility. Classes start from 9 AM and end at 5 PM. Each class is of about 50 minutes with tea break and lunch break is provided once. The campus has a food court and a food truck available till 5 PM. It has some cafes and Udupi at a walk able distance.

My course is Computer Science & Engineering. It has a lot of diverse topics and has a lot of sub branches like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, IOT, and many more. The rankings in KCET and COMEDK exams are quite high so it's easier to get into this college. The admission process was smooth without the need of roaming too much. After filling the form and paying the fee, one gets updated regarding the college main events through email. 2 internal exams and one semester end exam is held over a semester. Projects and assignments are also considered for grading. The topics taught always have an application-based part to it to make us understand where it exactly is used.

If one takes admission through KCET, the fee is around Rs. 1,50,000 per year including fee taken during admission process. Rs. 6, 000 are charged as examination fee in a year. the uniform fee is around Rs. 4,000 once for complete 4 years. If one takes admission through COMEDK, the fee is around Rs. 3,00,000 per year including skill lab fee. The examination fee is the same as for KCET. Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC is also available.

The faculties are really good over here. They teach us everything properly from scratch and are friendly & approachable once you get to know them. They are really qualified in their respective fields and have published a lot of research papers and books. For theory subjects usually PPTs are used together with black board. Each subject has a group project to build teamwork. The teachers for 1st semester are quite less since there are many classes just of CSE department. The faculties are ready to help you always in any project if it is something extracurricular.

There is 1 girl’s hostel and 1 boy’s hostel with an NRI hostel in the premises. Rental PGs are also at walk able distance.

There are separate assigned blocks for each department. Library has one whole block assigned to it with a stationary shop in it where we can get all necessary items and printouts and bindings done. There is a basketball court, badminton court, a gym. An auditorium with a good seating capacity is available. Food court has good food available. There are many skill labs available and a proper placement cell.

College life at DSATM Bangalore is smooth but monotonous. The crowd is nice if you find a good friends group to be with. Students are from various parts of India. There are many clubs like music club, Art, literature club, media club, dance club, podcast club, and many more. Many fests are organized, with the biggest fest being Esperanza usually held during may. Many hackathons, and inter department competition (Antragini) are held throughout the year.
