Unique Learning Environment at Newton School of Technology Sonipat

My experience with this institute is a rollercoaster. It is a relatively new college, there's many things that are still developing, but the foundation principle is strong. The curriculum is designed to be industry standard. Placements haven't started yet though, but the college pushes people towards internships. I chose this college because of the curriculum. The faculty is also pretty nice and chill. They're very approachable and they are all highly qualified, with most of them having PhDs and stuff. The standout feature is the library; look at it in the virtual view. It looks amazing and the library has a huge collection of books. They're all well maintained and can be accessed online. Campus life has its own difficulties. Hostel is compulsory.

I joined because of the technology-focused course, which I really liked. The fast-paced movement of tech needs a curriculum that's not outdated, which this college provides. They also make you practice many practical things by having you create projects and update your resume. The admission process is an entrance exam (NSAT), Interview, and then Group Discussion, all of these factors play a role in your admission and scholarship that you will get. This process is not that hard tbh. The frequency of the exams is weekly, on every Friday morning. They're very easy but very annoying that it's every week. Term exams are 30 to 40% of the grade so they're very important.

The fee structure is divided semester wise, covering tuition fee, hostel and mess, tech fee and refundable deposit.

The faculty at my institute is one of the strongest aspects of academic experience. Most of the professors have PhDs and stuff. They come from various companies like Zippo, Make My Trip, Microsoft, and so on. They teach on the smart board along with blackboards. There are many presentations and group discussion is part of the daily course. Since the teachers are very experienced, their problem solving abilities are very great. One of the professors is top 400 in competitive programming and all of them are having real life problem solving abilities. The teacher student ratio is 1:120, and which allows for personal interaction. They are very open to feedback and provide mentorship, projects, and internships.

Since the college is very new, there's no placements yet. However, there is a placement cell for the college. The college however, still pushes people for internships and projects to move them to employability.

The hostel is compulsory for all students. The facilities are decent too. The hostels are separate for boys and girls with essential amenities like internet and water fountains and microwaves on every floor. The rooms are allotted based on preferences so you can share with people you know. Hostel fee is 2.4 LPA. It has curfew after 11 PM. I have not much to complain about except the mess food.

It is very well structured. The academic block is A block with many classrooms that are very open and vast. Campus size is 25 acres, not that big but it's decent. The entire campus has internet, and the library is very big with a lot of collection of books. There is an auditorium, which can fit around 500 people, there's sports areas along with indoor sports. It has medical services and 24/7 securities.

Campus life is nice. Since it’s new, many things are still developing. There are several clubs but they are very new. There are active clubs for e-cell, coding, and cultural activities. Extracurricular are mandatory and people should participate in sports unless advised otherwise by medical practitioner. There are 2 fests a year, Damru and Neutron. They're very big and each happen in odd and even semesters respectively. The campus life has been quite nice and rewarding for me specifically.
