VFSTR Guntur Prepares Students for High-Paying Placements

I actually have bittersweet experience in this university. Actually, I quite like overall experience. I applied for 3 to 4 universities in which I was selected into 3 and out of all those, I chose Vignan University because its placements are good. It is not too far away from my home and it is quite affordable for a person from a middle class family. The curriculum is what made this institute different from others. The curriculum is hard but will be so helpful in future. The placement rate is also high and huge company visits our university.

I chose Computer Science because I am fascinated about coding and I am interested in app development. The eligibility criteria to get into this university is you must get 60% + in you intermediate and you should secure a good rank in any one of the entrance exam. The admission process is quite easy as it conducts an entrance exam, and if you secure a good rank, you will get a scholarship. Admission can also be done through entrances exams like JEE Main or state level entrance exams. Our internals are divided into T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5 and these are held twice a semester. T1 is a written based exam, T2 and T3 are review & presentation based, T4 is online based, and T5 deals with assignments. At the end of the semester, students will have final exams along with external labs. These exams might be overwhelming but are so helpful for students to gain the knowledge about the particular subject.

The total fee for Computer Science is Rs. 2,60,000. I pay Rs. 1,80,000 per year because I have 30% scholarship. We have to pay admission fee of Rs. 20,000 in advance and additionally every year we have to pay CAD fee of Rs. 5,000 and Exam fee of Rs. 2,300. There are no special discounts for special category but we have state student scholarship. Scholarships totally are based on your talent and the rank you secure in the conducted entrance exam.

My faculties are highly qualified, holding PhDs in their fields. Most of the faculty use PPTs to teach and then at the free time they hold group discussions to clarify all the doubts. Few faculty related to Math teach on blackboard. The problem solving ability of the faculty is quite impressive. They invent new and easy techniques for better understanding. The teacher to student ratio is 1:2 at university. I personally like few faculty a lot, as they are very friendly, approachable and helped me a lot in academics.

We have a placement cell in Vignan University. They even conduct CDA classes to train student’s priory. It improves their technical as well as practical skills and they even conduct speaking classes. They conduct placement drives in which various companies visit our university to hire new students. Companies like Amazon, Google, Accenture, Wipro, TCS, and many more visited our campus and hired many students. The highest package offered is 44 LPA by Amazon and the average package is 6 LPA. I have not got place yet so I cannot answer.

Yes, university provides residential facilities to boys and girls. They are huge number of students who live in hostel. The hostel is divided into many blocks and there is a ground and sports equipment. It also provides a gym and open place to roam around. Yes, girl’s and boy’s hostels are separate. The quality of the food is quite decent but can be improved. They provide the same food so changing the menu can improve the experience a little. They provide breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. The total fee for non-AC block is 1 LPA and for AC block is 1.5 LPA and we have to pay laundry additionally. The rules are quite strict like wearing decent clothes, one should come inside the hostel before 6 PM, etc. The overall experience is decent.

Our campus is divided into many block. A block is for freshers, N block is for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students. U block is for BI, Civil, and Mechanical Engineering students, H block is for ECE, EEE, Food technology, Chemical Engineering students, and finally P block for Pharmacy. Each classroom has a seating capacity of near about 70 students. We have a library, which is 24/7 available, and have huge amount of books. Labs are well equipped with computers, air conditioners, 24/7 Wi-Fi, etc. We have canteen in every block. Medical rooms are also available in hostels as well as university. I love canteen in the university because we can eat various types of food.

My overall campus life is quite fun. Vignan University is indeed overcrowded due to high intake of students. There are various clubs run by students like SAC, NSS, NCC, ARC, etc. SAC is the huge student body in the university and contain many sub-clubs over. I am part of SAC - Logistics division. Our university encourages sports and extracurricular activities a lot, they even provide all required facilities to the students who are interested. Our university organizes many fests, one of the biggest fest is Mahotsava. It is held in February every year and lasts for three days. It involves cultural as well as sports. I really like the campus life.
