Vignan Institute of Law is a budding law school that was established in 2020. It is situated within the main campus of Vignan University at Guntur. Since its establishment it has been growing in a descent progress with now having its full 5 batches. It offers two courses of 5 years as of now; they are B.A.LL.B and BBA LL.B. The law school has a diverse crowd of students from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Kerala, Rajasthan, UP, etc. The all basic infrastructure include moot court, computer lab, full-fledged library, and all the societies of co-curricular activities. The culture of research and academic excellence along with extracurricular activities are helping our college to prosper every day and now we have internship and placement cell also that help us getting good legal, NGO, corporate and judicial internship.

Academic practices are adopted and inspired by top law schools of India. The curriculum is based on new education policy and current trends. We have faculty strength of 8 law faculty and 10 non-law subject faculty and director of our law school. We follow R20 and R22 curriculum in academics that includes both externals and internals along with co-curricular activities and we have semester based exams.

The quality of teaching is of mixture. It depends on the kind of subject they teach. As we have less number of faculties in law subjects it sometimes get little tricky to get quality teaching from the faculties. The faculties are well equipped with latest knowledge of subject and they even promote research values in the subject. They are from central university and also from NLUs.

The internship and placement is a year old in terms of establishing but the practice of assistance in providing internship for the students has been going since the establishment of the law school. As now we have fully dedicated faculty and student operated internship and placement cell that is efficient in providing all kinds of internship that is needed for a law student. Our first batch is yet to pass so we have no data regarding placements.

The university has large residential hostel amenities for both boys and girls inside the campus and also outside (if the inside hostel gets full). The university is also building a new boys’ hostel that can accommodate 2700 students. The hostel has all the facilities like bed, RO water, Wi-Fi, security, and sanitation. The hostel has maids and caretaker for cleaning and discipline of students and it is totally prohibited for ragging activities. The hostel has two messes for both south and north students and even for international students. Healthy food menu is adopted for two times meals, breakfast, and snacks. The food taste is above average and quality wise good.

The university campus is of more than 100 acres with 5 academic blocks, library block, university ground, sports complex, common canteen, essential shops, guest house, garden, and hostels of girls and boys. It has to entry and exit gates with security. The Library block is a 4 storey building that has all books and journal needed for the students and professors. Every academic and administrative block is having water and sanitation amenities and also with a small canteen. The state of art buildings and all safety measure are there. Although the law department does not has its own block but it is under construction and will be operating from next year. Currently it shares its academic building with School Of Management and Agriculture Science. Law school has its full fledged library and moot court hall and also a computer lab with all subscription of SCC and EBC reader and other journals.

The campus life is quite disciplined and regulated by administration but there is space for every extracurricular activities and a happy campus life for the students. The university organises 2 fests and hostel fests every year. Apart from these, there are many departmental fests and students organised activities. The crowd is mixed of local state students and outside students. The university has a student and administration co-operative student’s activities council that has lot of clubs for organizing and operating events and activities in university. Law department also has 10 clubs and societies including debating and mooting, sports, research and internship and placement, etc. Mahotsav is the main fest that university organises every year. The law department has organised 3 national and international conferences but we are yet to organise a fully fledged fest for law department.
