Admission in CMRIT Bangalore via COMEDK and KCET

CMRIT Bangalore is accredited with A++ by NAAC. It has a 8-acre campus located in Marathahalli. I took admission in this institute through COMEDK Exam. There are total 720 seats as per AICTE approval. However, there are 100 more students enrolled. Total seats are 820 including CSE and Allied Branches.

The My branch is BE (AIDS). My overall experience in this institute I would say is average. This institute is ranked above top 7 of private institutes in Bangalore. I got this institute unexpectedly as the cutoff of this institute went very high as the number of seats is increased. Students can also get admission through COMEDK, KCET exams & Management Quota. To get admission, you have to sit in KEA/COMEDK counseling. We have 2 internal assessment exams with weightage of 50% and 1 external exam with 50% weightage. The institute follows VTU curriculum. It is autonomous institute but affiliated to VTU. The academics are hectic here as VTU has many subjects. In addition, the external exam timetable does not have sufficient study leave. It becomes very difficult at exam times.

The yearly fee through COMEDK is Rs. 3,16,087. Total fee is Rs. 12, 64,348, in which Rs. 34,000 additional fee is included of tuition, lab, facilities, etc. Rs. 36,000 is for Non-Karnataka Students. No scholarship is available for general.

The faculties in are well qualified and experienced. Most of the faculties are from Karnataka. All faculties are supportive and Approachable. Most of them use chalk and board method to teach. They also use presentation when needed. The teacher student ratio is 1:15. The classes are old fashioned, also the benches are uncomfortable. The projector of my classroom does not work properly. The institute starts from 8:00 PM and classes are upto 4:00 PM. The most strict faculty is Dr. Raveesha, Physics HOD.

The placements are decent in CMRIT Bangalore. There is a team of TYL: ‘Tie Yours Laces’ that prepare students for placement by providing soft skills. The tyl exams have 3 levels that are necessary for students to clear to be eligible for placements. Recently a 33 LPA package was offered from a Japanese company Ark Lt. to a senior. Average package is 4 to 5 LPA.

The campus size is 8 acres. There are 4 blocks in the institute A, B, C & D. There are 2 sections of AIDS branch with each of 70 students. There is one central Library, Physics lab, Chemistry lab, Programming lab, CAED lab, EEE Lab, etc. There is one auditorium with 600-student capacity called 'Dwani'. There is a large parking area, 1 football ground, 2-basketball grounds, 1 volleyball court, and 2 table tennis courts. There are 2 gates for entry. My favorite place is the basketball ground.

My campus life is very hectic as I am a day scholar. I travel 20 KMs to reach the institute. The institute crowd is good. I have joined the Defense club, as I am going to pursue Career in Defense Sector. I am also part of the Football Team. We had our sports fest recently called Spardha 2024 on December 2024. The overall experience is average for me. The life in this institute is very boring if you do not participate in extracurricular activities.
