Insights of MIT Bangalore: Entrance Exam & Exam Pattern

Overall Rating
My experience at MIT Bangalore has been amazing so far. The campus life is very good. The faculties so far are good enough. You should consider this institute because of the curriculum, faculty, campus life, freedom, academics, sports, and above all, the facilities in the hostel.
 

Academics Rating
I chose the Computer Science (Data Science) course as I aspire to be a Data Scientist. The entry requirement for our college is to get a good rank through MET exam conducted by Manipal. The admission process is quite simple, get a good rank, and get a seat accordingly. Frequency of the exams is 1 exam per month. We have a quiz of 10 marks, assignment of 10 marks, mid semester of 30 marks and end semester of 50 marks. So total is 100 marks and CGPA is calculated accordingly.
The year wise academic fee is Rs. 4,86,000 and the hostel fee is Rs. 2,26,000 for a double sharing room. The caution deposited was Rs. 10,000 that will be returned at the end of the graduation. Registration fee was Rs. 1,200. There is no management seat available in the campus.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of MIT Bangalore is average. The faculty members teaching my chosen course are mostly postgraduates or PhD graduates. The method of teaching is mostly through PPTs. Sometimes they use whiteboard with marker to solve numerical problems. The problem solving abilities of the faculty is pretty good. The teacher-student ratio is 1:60 which is very good. The faculty is also very approachable and they clear all the doubts asked.
 

Placement Rating
Placements are pretty good. We have an e-cell and they provide internship opportunity to students. Highest package is 57 LPA. Recently, Confluent offered 35 LPA to three students, BlackRock offered 22 LPA to eight students.
 

Hostel Rating
Infrastructure is extremely good. Campus size is around 90 acres. It is located in Yalahanka. The seating capacity of each classroom is around 70. The library is good and there are useful books available for every course. The auditorium is one of the largest and it has one of the largest screens in the country. The canteen is very good. We have a clinic where they treat people who are sick. We also have an ambulance is case of emergency.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is extremely good. Campus size is around 90 acres. Locality is Yelahanka. The seating capacity of each classroom is around 70. The library is good and there are useful books available for every course. The auditorium is one of the largest and it has one of the largest screens in the country. The canteen is very good. We have a clinic where they treat people who are sick. We also have an ambulance is case of emergency.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is amazing. The college crowd has around 3000 people. There are many clubs like Neura, Codex, Electrovista, Radar, Quantumspace, Cyberspace, etc. The annual fest is Roobaroo and the cultural fest is Falak. Every year, amazing artists are invited in these fests. The experience at my college is good, I met bunch of people who became close in no time. Just find the right amount of people, balance your academics, and have fun at the same time.

    I belong to one of the first few batches at MIT Bangalore. Everybody here is very passionate about something. It might be not related to studies but they are all very active. The friends and the freedom is the best part. The institute is obviously big and has the best facilities of course because it’s private.
