JECRC University, which is another branch of JECRC College, is by far one of the best education institutes for someone looking for a real-time experience and placement opportunities in top Indian and international companies. With over 60 lakh placement offer and international student exchange, this university is slowly becoming top choice for student from both tech and non-tech backgrounds. The university follows an open-setting infrastructure with buildings divided according to courses for easy navigation. Talking about the living facilities, the campus can house over 2000 students. The mess team (which is a combination of students and teaching staff) ensures that there are different meal options for everyone to enjoy.

Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication (BA-JMC) is a highly selected 3-year, non-tech course of JECRC University. With no more than 50 students per batch, this course, like any other, has 10+2 eligibility criteria for admission. Journalism and Mass Communication is divided into six semesters with each one having three set of exams including project submission, practical problem-solving, and theory. The complete course teaches basic to advance level of working in a newspaper, radio, and television, with each year covering one segment. Students are provided with news rooms, radio labs and T.V. station to work on department's official channel and get some real-time experience.

JECRC University follows a very simple fee structure where the students are required to pay either at the beginning of each academic year or semester. Well-performing students also get the opportunity to win a scholarship and get significant deduction on the academic fee. Students with 70% and above score are eligible to win a 30% scholarship, whereas, students who score between 60-70% are up for a 20% scholarship.

Talking about the faculty members of the Department of Mass Communication at JECRC University, we can say that each one has a unique aura which makes them stand-out. With an extensive field experience, the faculty ensures that the education goes beyond classroom. They often change their teaching location from classrooms and lab to college lawn and court rooms. The staff usually invites renowned media personalities to share their experience and motivate the students.

JECRC University boats a placement cell which keeps a track of each student. This cell ensures that every student has enough internship and placement opportunities to choose from. Being one of the most active departments of the university, the placement cell has recently on boarded some well-known media houses like Times Now, and India Today for their non-tech students.

JECRC University is known to be one of the only education firms that provide flat system in their hostel. The campus has a total of four hostel buildings with one being reserved for girls. Students are also provided with additional facilities, like doorstep newspaper services, different gyms for both male and female students, late-night canteen and a common mess that offers delicious yet health meal four times a day. The hostel timings for girls are till 9:00 P.M. and boys are allowed outside hostel building till 10:00 P.M. The hostel fee (AC and non-AC rooms) is supposed to be submitted with the academic fee.

JECRC University follows an open-settling infrastructure. This means that as you enter the campus, you will be welcomed with open gardens and fountains that lifts up the atmosphere. The campus is divided in four main blocks, including science, law & hospitality, central block and more. This makes navigation for the parents and new students very simple. You can also find different areas for various sports. There is one grand library in the Science block and a mini library in the law & hospitality block for non-tech students. Other than that, students are also offered, court rooms, in-house clinic, canteen and shops. As a journalism student, my personal favorite was the radio room and equipment facility which helped me understand a lot about production and radio operation.

If I could sum-up my entire campus life as a hostel student in one word, it would definitely be "fantastic"! Other than extensive range of courses to choose from, this university provided me an opportunity to explore the musician side of my personality. Being included in clubs like Swaraag and Mevric helped me a lot in getting rid of the stage-fear. I believe that this university focuses a lot on extra activities and as a student; you can find yourself enjoying a dance battle or a celebrity concert while also attending a debate on different laws.
