Scholarships and Faculty Support at SGGS Nanded

SGGS Nanded is a government autonomous institute. It is good and focuses on both academics and extracurricular activities. The campus is huge with good infrastructure. Labs are well developed with up to date machines. The reason of choosing this institute was experienced faculties with all of them having PhD. It is also quite cheap and affordable as compared to other institutes. There are more than 100 clubs in our institute and it makes the institute unique.

I chose Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. I chose this course because I can lean both hardware and software skills. We have to give MHTCET exam conducted by government of Maharashtra. Cut off is 96 percentile for CS & IT and 93 for Exec. For general category. For SEBC 91, OBC 89 and 52 for SC & ST for Exec. branch. There are two ISE of 20 marks in each and end semester of 60 marks. You need to get 40 marks for passing.

The yearly fee is Rs. 83,000 for general, Rs. 67,000 for OBC, EwS, & SEBC students, and Rs. 25,00 for SC & ST category. Rs. 42,000 is a tuition fee and rest is development fee. No other charges are there. There are many scholarships (private and government) especially for category students. Teachers themselves inform and support us to apply for scholarship.

The faculty teaching is good except a few. Our Programming and Physics faculty is good and focuses on practical teaching. Their teaching is so good that we learn mostly in class only. All faculties are PhD holders and are well experienced & educated. Teacher's problem solving ability is good if we ever are stuck on a question teacher makes sure to give answer in next class. The method of teaching is manual using blackboards and usually no digital method is used. The teacher student ratio is 1:60.Teachers is quite approachable and helps us everytime with however they can. They make sure to praise our hard work and scold us for mistakes.

The placement cell includes both students and teachers. Every year many companies are called to visit here in institute and most of them do come here. Microsoft, Google, Wipro, TCS, TCS Ninja, Accenture, L&T, etc. visits the campus during drive. Last year, the highest package offered was 40 LPA by Microsoft and average was 5 LPA. for Exec. Branch, the highest CTC was 25 LPA.

The campus of SGGS Nanded is huge spread over 3 to 4 acres. It is located in remote area. Departments have good infrastructure and buildings. Classrooms are big and non-AC with 70 students capacity approximately. Library is huge and is open until midnight. We have 3 seminar halls and a conference hall. Gym is also there with different timings for girls and boys. We have a medical dispensary but are not always open. We have 3 buses for transportation with Rs. 10,000 per year cost. Security is good with active guards even at night. Labs are well developed and updated. We have 4 canteens and all of them provide good food. My favorite place is garden built on campus. The campus is really green and clean so the garden is easily the favorite hangout spot. Our electronics labs have good instruments with heavy machinery.

The overall campus life is great and enjoyable. There are many people in institute but it never looks crowded at all. There are almost more than 100 clubs and all are active. Activities such as quizzes, dance, music, and singing are organized by institute to enjoy our campus life. We have many types of clubs like coding club, dancing club (FSDC), singing club (aarohan), robotics club (RNXG), Math club (bhadkarcahrya), etc. Social clubs like NSS are also there which promotes greed and clean environment and healthy lifestyle. There are 2 annual fests are held: one is cultural fest called Utsav and another is technical fest called Pragyan. Annual sports events like Zenith are also organized. So overall campus life is really enjoyable and fun.
