Overall Rating
Haldia Institute of Technology is known to be one of the best private engineering institutes in west Bengal due to its amazing infrastructure and excellent faculty. Haldia Institute of Technology has a history of cultivating great engineering minds. The environment around the institute is very pleasing for students and full of natural beauty. The institute has a large alumni network which is helpful for students when they try to get internships or placement offers.
 

Academics Rating
The institute gives admission based on the WBJEE and JEE mains examinations. There are various categories of seats which have different cutoff ranks. The cutoff rank for general category in WBJEE for branches like Information Technology and Data Science generally lies within 20000 ranks while the cutoff for Computer Science main branch is around 9000 rank. Seats are allotted based on these cutoffs during the WBJEE counselling online. TFW category has different fee structure and cutoff ranks.
Fee structure (with hostel fee) is - 1st year fee is Rs. 1,91,700; 2nd year fee is Rs. 1,64,000; 3rd year fee is Rs. 1,64,000 and for 4th year it is Rs. 1,64,000. The total fees (with hostel) will be around Rs. 6,83,700 and the total fees (without hostel) is Rs. 5,82,700.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of Haldia Institute of Technology is very helpful and approachable. Each member of the faculty is well educated in their respective fields and they help the students whenever needed. Group discussions are conducted often to make the students ready for corporate environment. Most of the faculty members are doctorates in their fields and have a vast amount of knowledge both academic and industry related, which is beneficial for the students.
 

Placement Rating
The placement and training cell of Haldia Institute of Technology guides of the students in their final year through the whole process of campus placement and ensures that the students face no difficulty during the process. The highest package offered last year was 33 LPA and the median package is around 5 LPA. Companies like TCS, Infosys and Cognizant visit our institute for campus placements.
 

Hostel Rating
There are several separate hostels for boys and girls at Haldia Institute of Technology. Each hostel has its own mess facility and the food provided to the students is decent. There are both veg and non-veg options available for the students. One room at the hostel generally accommodates 3 people and has facilities like study table for each student and an attached washroom.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of Haldia Institute of Technology is well renowned to be one the best for a private engineering institute in west Bengal. The campus size is more than 33 acres and is located in a lush green environment in the township of Haldia. The Aryabhatta Central Library is known to be one the biggest libraries for an engineering institute and has a wide variety of books for all engineering branches, especially for computer related branches like CSE and IT.
 

Campus Rating
There are various technical and non-technical clubs at Haldia Institute of Technology like the CSI-HIT and ISTE clubs which help the students get ready for the tech industry. HIT times is the official media club of Haldia Institute of Technology. Every year there are various sports tournaments organized in the institute like the annual sports meet, the annual cricket and football tournaments, etc. Riviera is the annual cultural fest of Haldia Institute of Technology and it is known to attract a huge crowd every year.

    I gave JEE Mains and couldn't make it into any IIT/NIT then I gave WBJEE and got this college. Campus is very beautiful, clean, and well maintained. Canteen, gym, and library everything is too good. Overall, it's a good college. There are many clubs and societies which will help you in your personal growth.     I have been admitted in this college in 2023 in CSE department. My WBJEE rank 4450. With this rank I choose this college because of it's being an oldest institution with great alumni network.     I didn't get the IITs and NITs through JEE Mains Rank. So I decided to take admission through WBJEE Rank in West Bengal in which I secured 10544 Rank. Through Counselling I got Information Technology Branch in Haldia Institute of Technology. IT Branch in our college is excellent as it provides many extra opportunities for many students to exercise their tech skills.     I got admission into the ECE branch in Haldia Institute of Technology through the WBJEE rank of around 24,000. Currently I'm in the first year so the overall experience is good. Overall, it is a very good platform for pursuing studies and extra activities like project making, car designing, and other sports activities are also conducted. All types of activities are held in the institute; you can play cricket, football, basketball, badminton and all others indoor and outdoor games in the institute and you will get gym facility as well....
