CIET Patiala at a Glance: Overview of CSE Branch

Overall Rating
CIET Patiala is a constituent ad affiliated to Chitkara University. This university is a highly reputed North Indian University for its quality of education. I have taken admission in BE CSE in 2024 and am having a good experience in the university. The factors that made me choose this university is the education and the placement opportunities it offers. It has a very big and dynamic campus with all the facilities that are required by the students as well as the staff. The atmosphere and the discipline it hold are also highly appreciated and great as an example.
 

Academics Rating
I chose this course because I have a deep interest in Computer Science and want to make a career in it. The entry in the course is based on class 12th or JEE Main marks. The student must obtain more than 80% in either, in order to be enrolled in the course. There is a counseling session for students who qualify the criteria for admissions. There is no scholarship for students. The exams are held monthly for students and the difficulty of the exams is perfect in order to test the skills and prepare them for industry. The course is perfectly aligned as per the requirements of the industry.
The tuition fee of the course is Rs. 1,20,000 per semester. There are no other charges. There is a small registration fee for the course, which is taken before the admission. There are no special discounts available for students or any scholarships for students, which is not right. Financial aid is available for students with some difficulties or causalities in their life.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is highly qualified for their roles. Most of the faculty members have PhD degree. The faculty members are highly experienced and are proficient in their roles as a professor. They have good knowledge on their subjects. There is a mixed method of teaching including white boards and projectors in the class. The teachers provide all the required notes in the form of PPTs or documents and sometimes physical documents as well. The teacher to student ratio could have been better. There is one teacher per 80 students in a class. The teachers share a good bond with the students.
 

Placement Rating
There is a special cell for placements in CIET Patiala. The cell helps students to get proper placements and also gives them proper guidance. It holds a placement exam as well. Most of the big companies visit the companies for recruitment like Amazon, IBM, Microsoft, and much more. The average package offered to the CS students is around 9 LPA and the highest package offered to a student is 54 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
The institute offers hostel facilities for both girls and boys. There are large number of hostels with an average of 9 floors. They provide good rooms with an option for ac and non ac as well. These hostels offer rooms in double, triple, & quadruple sharing and have an option of attached & non-attached washrooms. It provide mess facility as well with proper hygienic and good quality food. The girl’s and boy’s hostels are separate. The hostel fee varies from Rs. 72,000 to Rs. 1,10,000 depending on the size and variant of rooms. My experience of hostel is very good.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The academic blocks and structure are very good in the campus. The campus is on highway with very few facilities near the institute. There are hospitals, some other institutes, and D-mart near the institute. The classrooms are highly spacious and with very good facilities like projectors, ACs, Wi-Fi, and much more. The institute has multiple libraries and labs. The security is very strict in the institute and any kind of indiscipline may lead to serious punishment. The transport facility is also provided to the day-scholars, and the medical facilities are also very good.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus experience is very good in the campus. The institute crowd is very vast and diverse. There are multiple clubs in the campus, which are both educational and non-educational. There are multiple engagement activities in the campus including multiple events like DJ nights, gaming events, and educational events. There are multiple fests organized by the administration, which are very engaging and fun. Thus, the overall experience in the institute is very fun and interesting.

    It is a decent institute with good infrastructure and better educational services. Personally, I joined this institute as it had better placement records than other private institutes nearby.
