Admission Process and Fees for CSE at CEP Kollam

I joined CEP Kollam in the academic year 2023 in Computer Science Engineering branch. After passing my higher secondary studies, I was much confused about what to pursue next. I chose to go with the flow and went with Engineering. Overall experience of last 2 years in the college is very good. Fests and programs in my college are above my expectations. the ambiance of the college is great. If you are looking for a college that has good vibe and programs with better studies and placement, it's the best option.

I choose Computer Science Engineering in the particular college. I chose the course because of current trend and future scope of the course. KEAM examination is the basic process of admission in the college. For normal students that do not have any reservation, around 21000 is the last rank you need to join this branch. Whole admission process is online. After getting seat, we will get date to come in the college and finish the admission process. In CSE branch, 1 semester is of 6 months and each semester has 2 series of internal exams and 1 semester exam. The academics well prepare students for a real life challenge but the syllabus still a scope of improvement and needs to be updated.

For students who are of general category, the fee is Rs. 35,000 per year and additional Rs. 6,000 as college charges. Certain reserved categories to get fee discounts.

Our department consists of a HoD and several members in teaching staff. Faculty members have a minimum M.Tech degree in the particular course and most of them have PhD. Most of them are teaching in blackboards but a few prefer PPTs, which is much more comfortable for them. Only a few will use group discussion. The problem solving abilities of faculty are brilliant and they are well trained for teaching. The teacher student ratio at the college is 1:10. Our bonding with faculty is pretty good. But some of them are rude

Our college consists of a placement cell, which is headed by a brilliant person. The cell helps students to acquire jobs in industry and they give proper training. Many activities and classes are provided from first year onwards and in third year it is most effective. Companies like Infosys, UST, etc. visit CEP Kollam for recruitment. Average package at our college is 6 Lakh Per Annum and highest package is 12 Lakh Per Annum.

Our college doesn't have much hostel facilities. Hostels are private houses under the control of college. Girl’s and boys hostel’s are separated. Food is average. Hostel fee is Rs. 5,000 per month. Hostel in timing is 6 PM for girls and 8 PM for boys. I'm a day scholar.

Our college is built in 20 acres of land and most of it is unused. Our college has a great nature friendly atmosphere. Our college has a main block that's administrative block, 4 department blocks, and separate blocks for labs. All the classrooms are large enough to accommodate at mostly 70 students. CEP Kollam consists of a huge library and much needed lab spaces. Every block has its own seminar hall and has a main auditorium separate. We have a canteen building, a sports room, equipment, and gym facilities. Our college is guarded by 2 securities always. My college is nature friendly with 24 hour ventilation.

My overall campus life is pretty awesome. In our college we get the freedom what we need. College is not much crowded as it has enough space to accommodate everyone. Our college consists of many clubs such as science, arts, technical, and technological clubs. I'm part of the technical club. The college organizes yearly sports activities along with academic events. The biggest festival of our college is the technical fest that's 3 day long and a real festival. We celebrate Onam, Christmas, ethnic day, and Holi. My campus life is above my expectations here.
