My College Life in IIST Indore

Overall Rating
This institute is not so costly in terms of academic fee. There are also many clubs. Clubs that are active are useful for students. Now labs provide New generation systems for students (i5 or i7) for the students. Now, it has started providing ACs in class along with some other advanced features that have been proving helpful for the students as students start learning programming language from the first year onwards. Now most important thing is placement, placement is now so good. Recently, it was accredited by NAAC.
 

Academics Rating
I chose B.Tech CSE because this is good for my career and me. The reason for choosing this institute is that is affordable for me. Admission process is similar to other engineering institutes. It totally depends upon marks of 10+2 and rank in JEE Main. IIST Indore is still under RGPV, so all exams are also conducted according to RGPV guidelines.
I am paying Rs. 70,000 per year or Rs. 35,000 par semester. But now for new students, fee is increased. If you choose transportation, you have to pay bus fee, which depends on your pickup, and drop location.
 

Faculty Rating
All the faculty members good they are well educated but some of them have to improve their teaching methods. In all classes, we have both class and PPT options for students. Faculty use them according to their topic of teaching. They are approachable if you have any doubt about anything. They are ready to help you, if you have doubt. They have good problem-solving ability.
 

Placement Rating
Placement is average in institute. The institute provides classes for placement training like aptitude, mock PI, and GD to the student, which may helpful for them.
 

Hostel Rating
According to me, the institute hostel is little bit costly for students. The fee is approximately Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 95,000 per year. Rooms are average but food can be improved.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is good. There are many places for you to sit in your free time. Institute also provides Wi-Fi facilities to the students. Labs are good. As mentioned above, all the labs contain good systems like i5, and i7 that are of latest generation. Library is average. All the required books are available for the student. It also has separate section that has study material for government exams like GATE and others.
 

Campus Rating
Overall institute life is good. There are many fun clubs for students like photography, and poetry. It also arranges a fest called ‘Dezzal’, which is two days. The 1st day is for students in which students perform songs, dance, fashion shows, etc. During this fest, the students, teachers, and guests faculties are provided with food coupons. On second day, there is a music concert for students where popular singers come to the institute.

    My overall experience at IIST Indore is average, the factors that made me choose this institute is basically its fee structure, good environment and its infrastructure, which is also good.     IIST is a brand name that has no value left. In the name of placements only few students irrespective of their branches are placed in Tech Mahindra and TCS and college will keep patting themselves on their back that they have got their students placed in some of the top IT companies of India. Fees is quite low and that perhaps is the only plus point because in 2 lakhs one can easily become engineer here which is not possible in most of the private colleges or universities in India.
