Eligibility Criteria for IIST Indore's B.Tech: 10+2, JEE Main & Counseling

My overall experience at IIST Indore is average, the factors that made me choose this institute is basically its fee structure, good environment and its infrastructure, which is also good. They also provide good facilities in library and they focus on overall development of the students. Inter-college competitions and hygienic, AC classes are adding factors.

I have chosen the course B.Tech with major in Computer Science, the reason behind this is, at that time Computer Science was trending in the market, and it was a good chance to make career in the field with a decent fee. For taking admission in this institute, there are majorly two ways. One way is to take admission through your 12th marks or on the basis of your JEE marks. Another way is through the DTE counselling, which is all about the admission process. Semester exams are held according to the academic calendar and beside this, there is also mid sem exam. The academic preparation here is average and it gives you a chance to become a better version of yourself.

I paid a fee of Rs. 70,000 per year, which means Rs. 35,000 each semester without any scholarship. If you belong to OBC, ST or SC category then you will automatically get scholarship from the government and your fees will be reduced. If you have good marks in the JEE or 12th class, then also you will get the scholarship. Delay in submitting the fee will result in charging of late fee fine.

The faculty here in IIST Indore is average. This institute has a few teachers who are better at the coding and they regularly conduct workshops for skill development. Now they have started to install smart boards in the classroom and they are even installing air conditioners for a comfortable experience.

Placement is decent in this institute. Non-tech companies come in here more often than tech companies. Students get placed with teacher’s assistance, but there is definitely room for improvement here.

I have not lived in the hostel, but they provide the hostel facilities, which is inside the institute for both boys and girls. The cost of living in the institute hostel is quite affordable, but the mess food is average. You have to share your room with three individuals and in the evening it is mandatory for each student of hostel to play any type of sports.

When it comes to the infrastructure, I will say it is decent and it is basically divided into the three parts; A block, B block and C block and there are good facilities in library. The campus ground is surrounded by the big palm trees and the hostel is nearby.

The fests here are really enjoyable and the things about club is that they most of the local people participate and the outsiders rarely get a chance to take participate. In IIST Indore, overall it’s a good experience of mine, I made some good friend and also enjoyed a lot.
