My Academic Journey at The Oxford Medical College Hospital and Research Centre

Overall Rating
The Oxford Medical College Hospital and Research Centre is quite good with exceptional professors and all the amenities it provides with newly built lecture halls and a new library with all subject books. College is situated outside the chaotic city in a peaceful environment but it lacks transport facilities all time but BMTC busses are available every hour and you can get auto rickshaws any time near hospital premises.
 

Academics Rating
My course is Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. I joined this college in the year 2020 through UG NEET government quota. You should secure a good rank to get seat under government quota otherwise you can go for private or through management quota which is quite expensive. College conducts 3 three internal exams every year according to RGUHS CBME curriculum which is moderately difficult to pass and Annual exam in the end is conducted by university.
At The Oxford Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Government quota Tuition fee is Rs. 1,41,196 + Rs. 35,000 (lab fee) + Rs. 15,000 (library fee) and the registration fee is Rs. 1,000 in the beginning. Every year you have to pay the exam fee which is Rs. 750 for every subject and that depends on number of subjects you have in each year.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty in each department is quite knowledgeable and experienced with their clinical knowledge. They guide the students very well. Particularly OBG and medicine departments are good. Method of teaching is through ppt for lectures and for clinical bedside teaching is available. The teacher student ratio is around 1:20. Professors bonding with the students are quite good and friendly. All teachers help their students to get good marks in university exams and also to acquire good clinical knowledge.
 

Placement Rating
After completing the course, you have one year of compulsory Rotatory Internship in the same hospital for which stipend is also provided.
 

Hostel Rating
Separate hostels are available at The Oxford Medical College Hospital and Research Centre for UG, PG, senior residents, and for nursing students.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus has newly built library, one external and one internal library. Internal library contains books for all subjects from different authors but most of the books are of old edition. They should be replaced with new ones. Seminal halls are available in each department and an auditorium with seating capacity of 250 students is also there in the college. Canteen is also available in the college.
 

Campus Rating
Overall college life is good but you get less clinical exposure because patient count is less here. College management conducts different events through student is council which are quite good. They celebrate all cultural, medical and group events. Kannada Rajyosthava, Ganesh Chaturthi and College Fests are celebrated here with joy. Extracurricular activities like department wise quiz programs, etc. are conducted here frequently. Red cross club is also available in the campus.

    Academics are good but infrastructure is average. I chose this college because of the rank I got in NEET. Overall, academics and teaching wise, the college is good.     My experience is a mix of both good and bad. Academics were good and we had very good memories with our friends and college. I am unsatisfied with the fees structure.
