Pravara Rural Medical College: Faculty, Fees, and Facilities

Pravara Rural Medical College has an excellent clinical exposure and good patient flow, I have not seen this in many deemed colleges around Maharashtra. Also it is one of the most affordable colleges in Maharashtra. Also the reputation of Pravara Rural Medical College is very good. Many alumni of this college are now working as leading physicians and surgeons in their fields.

MBBS is one of the most prestigious courses in the country. My motivation was to become a doctor and help those in need. Cut off in 2020 was 490 marks out of 720 in NEET UG. Admission process was straightforward and simple. Exams are taken semester wise and thorough knowledge of the subject is required for passing. Teaching is application based rather than rote memorization which also helps in gaining clinical experience.

Admission at Pravara Rural Medical College is via Maharashtra counselling after the NEET-UG exam. Rs. 1,45,000 per year are taken tuition fees. Rs, 1,00,000 is for the hostel, mess and other fees per year. Fees are same for all at Pravara Rural Medical College. There is no concession based on caste.

Faculty at Pravara Rural Medical College is well qualified and helps us with our doubts. Teaching methods include PPTs and small group discussions. In clinical postings, teaching is more application based rather than rote memorization. Overall experience with the faculty was great and felt like school times where teachers actually cared about our development as a whole and not just teach just for the sake of it. Professors provide us with PPTs of the lecture for later reviews.

At Pravara Rural Medical College, Hostels are provided inside the campus at walking distance from the classroom and hospital. 2 students have to stay in each room. There are separate girls and boys hostel. Recreation rooms and gyms are present inside each hostel. Mess is student run so menu is decided by the students and can be changed accordingly. The Hostel In time is 9PM. I had a good experience staying at the hostel, it’s convenient and comfortable. The Hostel fee is Rs. 60,000 per month.

Campus of Pravara Rural Medical College is lush green. There are spacious classrooms with seating capacity of 200 students with centralised AC. Central library and auditorium is also available in the campus. 2 Canteen and a food court are inside the campus. Sports facilities are available in Pravara Rural Medical College including basketball, football, volleyball, cricket, badminton, and tennis. Labs for clinical teaching with dummies for teaching how to use injections, and other medical equipment. Forensic medicine museum is also present here to get first hand practical experience of the instruments. Transport facilities are available just outside the college gate and include public transports as well.

Overall campus life is happening and great at Pravara Rural Medical College. College crowd consist a mix of locals from Maharashtra and people from other states as well. Various clubs for co-curricular activities like Academic, Dance and music clubs are available here. Annual fest is Padmanjali that is held in October. It is a grand event. Well known people from the music and standup comedy industry are also invited here. Sports events are also held with monthly cycling events, Yoga day celebration, etc.
