ITS College of Pharmacy B.Pharm Review By Bandita Devnath

I took admission in ITS Pharmacy College in the year 2016 same year I had completed my 12th. I choose this course because I wanted to be a good pharmacist. When I enter in the college I had no idea how would be the college life but after the interaction with seniors and making new friends I fully enjoyed my college till then with great fun. Life at ITS was amazing. I enjoyed in every fest and also participated in the singing events and My life at ITS was good for my overall growth. But bad part for me was I did not get placed in the college placements. I think other students should only apply for this course if they feel that they have interest in medicines.

B.Pharma is for the people who wanted to purse career in the field of pharmaceutical industry. This course is not any optional course like these days students does engineering because they wanted an option in life but this course is different than other courses and it provides whole new experience than our study till 12th standard. Admission process is simple when I took this course that time I gave AKTU exam to take admission in this course. After the exam result I did counseling and then I have selected and then admission process was done in ITS Pharmacy College. Students must have attained good rank to take admission in this course. Admission process is very simplified. Course consists of 8 semesters and provide lot of knowledge and majority of the knowledge had been given by practical.

ITS Pharmacy College faculties are good and some new faculties came and behave rudely. Faculties are post graduate or doctorate and I feel teaching method is good in term of exam preparation. But there teaching is not enough if some students want to prepare for the GPAT exam which is exam in good and reputed colleges. I feel that teacher are good and provide overall good teaching in theory and also in practical. They teach enough for the university level. Some faculties also help students to prepare for the higher studies and one of the teachers encourage me to pursue M. Pharma. All teachers are very talented and majority of them done job in the pharma industry.

Yes, ITS Pharmacy College has its own placement cell and tries to give placements to the student. But when I was in my final year COVID came and very fewer companies visited the campus that is why in my batch very little placements happen. But many students got placed in many good companies with very good placements. Some of the students started their job before their graduation completed. From 7th semester students become eligible for the placements. But in my batch only 50 percent got placed. There many paid internship opportunities are available in the campus that provides good stipends to the students. Internships are also brought to the college by the placement cell and they did many works for the students to get good job but because of COVID these year placement percent is not good.

I was very surprised by the hostel in ITS because they provided me 2 seater room with good facilities like free Wi-Fi in the rooms and coolers in the summer. College hostel also has laundry facility So I had not washed my cloths in my four year of graduation. College hostels are also very secure for the girls. There are many rented rooms are available outside the campus but I think college hostel the very safe for the students. There was also a swimming pool in the hostel and there were celebrations on every festival in the campus. Hostel fee is Rs. 90,000 and I think it was reasonable and gave us good facilities in that amount. Another thing of that I was surprised was the food of the college hostel. Food in the college mess was good it was not bad as I had heard from my friends that food is bad in their college.

ITS has good architecture they have all facilities in the college. College infrastructure is good. College also has a building in which there are many indoor games and also provides many fun place in that building. College has a big canteen that too is well maintained. There is open library for the students and it is fully air conditioned and it provides all the books that are needed. Class room has all the facilities like Projectors and good furniture. I was surprise when I see the labs. Each time I go to lab, they are very well maintained and clean and have all the resources and equipment for the practical. In college there is also medicine garden in which there are many types of plants available. Overall Infrastructure of the college is good and very well maintained.

There are many fests organized by ITS Pharmacy College for the students and some are organized by the students by the crowd funding. Some of the fest are like pharma fest, sports fest, other activities. Classes are from Monday to Friday, So students get 2 days for the fun they wanted to and some study for their preparation for GPAT. Overall institute's environment is very friendly and you make many friends for life till you graduates from the institute. There are many activities that happens in the campus like events on every major festival. Life at ITS was good for me and It taught me a lot in my life. There are many programs that happens in the college to make the students more involved in the extra curriculum activities which make the overall personality.
