DAV College Chandigarh: Admissions, Courses, and More

My overall experience in the college was average. The course is a bit overcrowded having over 1000 students in BA. My reason behind choosing this course was the easy entry to get in as only 50% marks are required to get into the course. There are good things like the events and fests that they organize. DAV College has a good reputation, but I chose this because it has more than just study, which I really like a lot. There are different clubs and you can join them & learn and grow with a team.

I chose BA because I had different plans and wanted to do music and other creative things. To Enroll in BA you should have at least 50% in 12th, but still there are chances that you could get rejected. Your 10th class marks also matter. The admission process is simple you have to register first with your details of 10th-12th class DMC and other required documents. For every semester there is an exam. Class tests are also conducted during each semester.

DAV College follows a yearly fee structure which is in the range of Rs. 19,000 – Rs. 22,000. It changes every year, but it remains in between these. The registration fee is required to be paid only once and then there is an examination fee for every sem. The scholarship is only provided to people who have more than I think 90% in their last academics or who belong to a reservation category.

Teachers at DAV College are good at teaching. The problem-solving abilities of the faculty members are average. The student-teacher ratio is good. My experience and bond is good with the teachers here. The methods of teaching they use are really good, they use blackboards, group discussions and they even take students to places related to their subjects. Like - History teachers take their students to the museum, etc.

Placements at DAV College are average. Big companies come to the college for recruiting students.

I am a day scholar at DAV College so I don’t have much information about the college hostel.

The infrastructure is good at DAV College. They renovate it from time to time. The buildings, classes and toilets are mostly good at DAV College. The locality is really good; it is in Sector 10 in Chandigarh, which is a Posh sector in Chandigarh. There is a Badminton hall, basketball ground, shooting range, volleyball ground and a cricket ground in the campus. The college campus has 2 canteens and the food served there is good too. They have their own Ambulance in the college. The security is really good like CCTVs and security guards are always present in the campus. They have 2 auditoriums, a small one and a big one. The library is really good; it’s peaceful and filled with a lot of knowledge. Different labs are also present in the college.

Campus life is good at DAV College. If you want to learn then you can learn, and if you want fun then you can have fun here. The crowd is average. The clubs are really helpful. There are a lot of clubs for people with different skills, but I'm not part of any club. They organize a lot of extracurricular activities, fests and events in a year. My overall experience has been really good at DAV College and I do not regret choosing DAV College, Chandigarh.
