Overall Rating
My overall experience at AGC Amritsar has been fantastic. I chose this college particularly because it is autonomous and the curriculum is also up to date. The best part of the college is its faculty members which are really cooperative. My parents allowed me to join this college mainly due to its bus facility.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen B.Com (Hons.) because I am looking forward to get a white-collar job in banking and corporate sector. You are required to have a passing percentage in senior secondary exams in senior secondary exams to become eligible to join this course. Admission process involves submission of certain documents like 10th certificate, 12th certificate, and photocopy of Aadhaar card, etc. You are required to give online test at AGCNEST to get some scholarship as well.
The fee of total course can be about nearby 2 Lakh. You can get scholarship through ‘AGC NEST’. Government scholarships are available for SC category students. College bus charges for outstation routes are about Rs. 1,500 for 6 months.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty members of the college are extremely cooperative and supportive. Special mentors are there to guide and support every student in any kind of difficulty they might face. Students are welcomed to openly discuss about their problems. Teaching staff teach students in an effective way through self made notes, presentations, practical group activities, blackboards or whiteboards. Teachers are well qualified and trained. Personally, my experience with the faculty has been really good. I have got the required support by my teachers wherever I needed.
 

Placement Rating
There is a special placement cell at AGC Amritsar, which invites companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, etc. This placement cell also organizes different activities for the students like mock placement drives or mock interviews or mock placement tests for students to train and get them for future placement drives. The average salary package of placements is about 3.5 - 4 Lakh Per Annum. My placement experience was fine.
 

Hostel Rating
College provides facilities of a separate boys’ hostel and a girls’ hostel. The hostels provides required facilities like attached washrooms, air conditioned rooms, etc. The hostel fee ranges from Rs. 1,18,777 to Rs. 3,62,693 including the mess fee. There are certain rules like hostel timings, etc. which is required to be followed by hosteller.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus of this college is good. There are different departments. The classrooms are air conditioned. College library is also amazing. Beside this, there are mechanical labs, first aid room, cafeteria, grand auditorium, and a seminar hall. Food in the canteen is good and budget friendly. College also provides bus facility to many local and outstation routes like Gurdaspur, Tarn-Taren etc. Sports are also encouraged at this college. Students enjoy playing different games like cricket, basketball, badminton etc.
 

Campus Rating
My campus life has been amazing and full of unforgettable memories. I enthusiastically participated at college events and inter zonal youth fests. The college is not overcrowded; Students can join placement committees, social media clubs, or cultural clubs as student coordinators. College teachers organize different extracurricular activities for students for a fun -learning experience from time to time. PRAYAS is the main event organized by the college for students to showcase their different talents and win prizes.

I chose this college because of its bus facilities and its teaching styles. Teachers are very friendly with students.
