Viva College: A Top Choice for Vasai-Virar Students

My overall experience at Viva College has been very good. In the last 3 years. I have learnt a lot from this college. I choose this college because it is close to my house and I can easily commute to the campus. It is best option for students residing in Vasai-Virar because they can easily reach the college. The faculties are really helpful which makes the college standout when compared to other institutes.

The academic structure of the college is followed as per Mumbai university. I chose the Bachelor of Arts in Multi-media and Mass Communication (BAMMC) course, which was previously called Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM). It was a 3 year UG course but now as per the new education policy it has been updated to a 4 year course, which specifically focuses on Advertising and Journalism. I choose this course because I want to enter in media field. This course will help me to gain knowledge about how media industry works. Students have to pass 12th in any field are eligible for this course. The admission process of the college is very simple and you can take through both online and offline mode. At the college, the frequency of exams at for this program is 2 per year.

The fee of my course in the 1st year was Rs. 17,000 and in 2nd year was Rs. 18,000 and now in final year it is Rs. 19,200. There are no additional fees or extra charge at the college. Moreover, special discount is offered to specific category students at Viva College.

Shahin Mahida ma'am is the head of my department. Some other faculties are Mohsin sir, Neetu ma'am, Trupti ma'am, Balkrishna sir, and Alina ma'am. The faculty members for BAMMC program are highly experienced with the highest teaching experience of 17 years. The teachers use both blackboards and PPTs. All faculty members have problem solving abilities. The teacher student ratio is dependent on the number of students. For example, 1 teacher can be present in a class of 60 students. My experience with the teachers is very good as they are very collaborative. The student-teacher bonding is very friendly.

The seating capacity of the classrooms at Viva College is approximately 100-1200. There are various academic facilities available like seminar hall, library, conference hall, computer lab, etc. The security facilities are top notch and the sports facilities are also very good. The canteen food is good but it only has few items, which could be improved. There is also an audio-visual (A.V.) room, which is my favourite part of the college.

My overall experience at the campus is excellent. I have made best memories and achieved so many things at the college. The crowd here is good and helpful. There are clubs in the campus and students can also participate in various extracurricular activities. The college hosts many fests where students can be a contestant. My department has their own fest which is called ‘Xpression’.
