MHT-CET for Admissions at LUC LAW Mumbai

In a busy street of Mumbai, I found Lords Universal College of Law, which is one of the most quiet and resilient places. Their students who always keep their legal heads into the bare acts are found spending most of their time in the library. I noticed that here seniors always help their juniors to make them participate in several competitions like Parliamentary Debates, Moot Competitions, and even Model Youth Parliament. The interesting thing, I liked about the college is our faculty and principal. They are so much helpful in everything, if we face any doubts or if our thoughts get tangled for the next step, we directly find a way out through our college principal. Overall, I find my college academically highly developed, which helps future litigants and corporate lawyers to see the world with different perspective.

While, I got enrolled myself in the college, I was overwhelmed with the subjects and studies, as LL.B is a journey that shapes one's intellect to dice deep into the legal, ethical, political, and social frameworks that govern our life. The admission process is quite simple in this college. Once your MHT-CET results are out, you can fill up the form and make sure that you put the LUC LAW Mumbai name first only, then you have to wait for some time. Your score should be above 50 out of 150 and you will be selected. There are both 3 years courses and 5 years courses. So, one can enroll themselves respectively. For 5 years course, 10 semesters are carried out in total. For 3 years course, 5 semesters are carried out in total. While finalizing your admission, one has to bring all the documents. If any confusion arises there is faculty who will help students and shall clear all their confusions. Lastly, academics will help you understand, as how the interpretation of law can be done in real life and how you make the applications towards the real-life matters.

The fee structure in the college is minimal. Fee is collected by the students on yearly basis. In the first year of your college the fee is only Rs. 22,000. For the remaining 4 years, it is Rs. 37,000. Scholarship and financial aid is available, the amount is levied as per the documents submitted by the particular students, who fall under the certain criteria.

Faculty of the Lords Universal College of Law, Mumbai has done their Masters in Law. Some of the faculty members are Doctorates in a particular subject. They are brilliant with their knowledge and teach in a broader perspective with respect to the law and academics. They educate us in a way, where we learn through illustrations, which helps us to understand more about the subjects. They take weekly quizzes to test our understanding. Some of our professors use PPT to make a particular subject interesting, and some teach us orally. Teachers also provide notes in our classroom.

The infrastructure of LUC LAW Mumbai is minimalist. The vibe of our classrooms & library makes us feel comfortable and enhance our learning. We quietly sit in our library and study peacefully, or sometimes we just do our own work also, as there is the accessibility for connecting your charger too. We also celebrate library day and install many new books, which builds our understanding towards law with more clear vision. We also have different books written by prominent authors. Hygiene is one of the most important prospects we have in our college, our campus, our classrooms, and especially toilets, which are kept clean, and are easy to use. Security staff is also very helpful in our college, whose supervision is strict and helpful too. Classrooms are spacious and well equipped with modern facilities like smart boards.

From internships at law firms & NGOs to attending court proceedings and working under senior advocates, everything is experienced here. The course is offers moot court competitions, drafting, client counseling, and engage with youth. College fest ‘Lex Loci’ has helped many students, as these experiences bring textbook to life and train students to become solution-oriented professionals. Moreover, students are free to participate in out of state competitions too. Our college does take us on field trips too, which includes court visits, which is not limited to Bombay High Court but also Supreme Court, and jail visit too. We also have a moot court society, where we work as a team. We have various committees like placement committee, cultural committee, and also subject oriented committees like Tax, Arbitration, etc. To sum up my experience in Lords Universal College of Law, Mumbai is fascinating. We grow and learn new things every day. The crowd of the college is mixed from across India.
