My 3-Year Experience at SASTRA University

Overall Rating
My experience has been average as it has keen focus on academics and I am more of a fun kind of person. However, if you are a studious person, this is the place for you. It provides great research opportunities, good faculty, & very education friendly environment. If someone is serious about studies, this university will help them reach to the heights. If you are into research or entrepreneurship this is the place.
 

Academics Rating
I chose this course because I was interested in how Cyber system works. It comes under Electronics & Communication. If you are decent student with decent grades, you can easily get seat in the university. Mostly if you scored 90+ percentile with 80% marks in 10+2, you can get your preferred branch without any trouble. The admission process is completely merit based. Exams are very often every semester we have 3 monthly tests and best of two counts.
Total yearly fee in SASTRA University is 3 Lakh including your hostel and mess fee. Northeastern and Kashmiri students get to enjoy the benefit of free education if they manage to score and pass in all the exams. Financial aid is available for students in need.
 

Faculty Rating
I got the luck with faculties. Some of them are very strict, but most of them are fun to learn with and are a great company to work under if you are planning to go for research. Most of the faculties are highly qualified and have many papers published under their name. Some of the top class researchers and excellent scientists teach here. If you get lucky, they might come to teach you. It is an excellent opportunity to learn from through the best even if you are not interested in research work.
 

Infrastructure Rating
SASTRA University has great infrastructure and good academic blocks. Every building has its own essence. It is a big campus of about 270 acres, which is not bad with 4 separate buildings dedicated to research work in core department and one building for sports. Canteens are affordable and sports facilities are fine. Anyways, it is a huge library with heck load of great books to learn a work on. My academic experience has been great.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is average. The rules are very strict. There are many clubs, which you can join, grow, and learn. Fests in the name of extracurricular activities are organized and if you are in clubs. Every now and then, you get to host some events or workshops for others to learn and join. The fests like Daksh (Tech fest), Colloseum (Sports fest), and Kuruksastra (which is idk what just regular fest where you have the most fun).
