State-of-the-Art Classrooms and Sports Facilities at NIT Delhi

I got 99.3 percentile in JEE Main the main reason I choose Delhi is that there will be a lot of exposure to industries and you will not have any transportation problem (mentioning this as I am from Andhra Pradesh). The campus life here is so good and you can enjoy every single day. The main thing is that choosing your friends correctly is where the glory of your campus life lies.

I have chosen Electronics and Communication Engineering, as I am very much interested in this course. Dealing with Chipsets, Circuits and all will give you unique experience learning all about new things. The entry into this institute for any course is only through JEE Main. In addition, you need at least 99 percentile in JEE Main for getting into this institute for my branch i.e. ECE. Here in this institute the faculty is very cooperative and will support you to grow and develop new skills in you. You will be encouraged to engage in every event like Hackathon etc. Coming to the exams there is continuous evaluation along with the mid sem and end sem examinations which helps the student in understanding the concepts much better.

For a General Category student like me, the tuition/ academic fees are around Rs. 81,000 per semester. In addition, if you want hostel you need to pay extra Rs.18,000 (for non-AC) and Rs. 28,000 (for AC). Along with this as you, live in hostel you need to pay Rs. 3,800 per month as mess bill. If you are economically backward then according to the family's annual income, the discount in the fee structure will be provided. One can apply for many scholarships.

As I have already mentioned the faculty here are so cooperative and will definitely support in every aspect. I would love to tell that even if you go to them after the working hours for a doubt or something, they would definitely explain you and give you some suggestions for getting better. The student- teacher ratio is around 1:15 and it is quite a very good ratio. All the lecturers here are knowledgeable and will guide you. They explain you each and everything about the subject in a large touch TV and would expose you to outer world by giving tasks like group discussions, presentations etc. You can definitely become friends with a teacher if you are that much dedicated to the subject.

There is Training and Placement (T&P) cell in NIT Delhi and it supports the students of the institute. The T&P cell interacts with managers of different companies and asks to take the talented students of our institute into their company. It calls many companies for conducting interviews in the institute. Around 120+ companies visited our institute the last year. There are even many programs conducted in the auditorium of our institute regarding placements and various opportunities available. The average package in the recent placement drive is around 15-16 LPA and we have a highest on campus placement of 58 LPA and off campus highest is around 88LPA.
It was quite a good experience for me talking to some of my seniors who were placed recently.

NIT Delhi provides hostel, however the construction of the institute is not fully completed as of now. The hostel for the freshers is provided at NILERD, which is 7-8 km far from the main campus and a bus is provided for the transport. From 2nd year, onwards the you will be given hostel in the campus itself. In campus, you have two hostels, namely Dhauladhar hostel (for senior boys) and Yamuna hostel (for all girls including freshers). The fees are Rs. 18,000 per semester for non-AC rooms and Rs. 28,000 per semester for AC rooms. The rooms are comfortable and you will be provided with a table and cupboard. There is 24/7 water and current supply. However, the food quality of the mess is not so satisfactory.

The classrooms are very spacious and can accommodate 80 students easily in each lecture theatre. There are also speakers in the classroom, so that even if you sit in last bench you can listen what lecturer is saying. There are two libraries as of now and almost 60 students can sit in each library. There is a new library block, which is under construction, and this can accommodate up to 1000 students easily. There is even 24/7 medical support in the campus. The security is also very strictly maintained. Coming to the sports, there are various types of games like Cricket, Chess, Volleyball, Throw Ball, Basketball, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Kabaddi, Football, Carrom, Soccer, 8 Ball Pool, and what not. There are even coaches for every game who will teach you and help you master in a particular game. Two canteens are there in the institute, which are open from 10 AM to 8 PM.

The overall campus life is so fascinating and wonderful; you will get a very great experience at this campus. There is some kind of event or fest happening every 4 months. There are many types of clubs like Photography Club, Cultural Club, Art Club, Social Reform Club, and many more, through which you can gain knowledge and new experience every single day. The night and morning views in the campus are very fascinating and wonderful.
