Affordable & Quality Law Education at SCLC Kolkata

Initially Law was not in my plans and I was intrigued to see where I would go after the first year. However, after 1st semester itself I started enjoying my college and my course. In four years, my college life at SCLC Kolkata has been more turbulent than I would have imagined. Attendance are not that strict and infect some students come to college only for exams or some special guest lectures. This is because more focus is given to practical learning and therefore most students who are pursuing Law from here are more involved with internships.

A lot of universities and NLUs for that matter can contest with Calcutta University law course but trust me none of them would be close. Here, students come from various parts to study law and that is because the kind of content or the curriculum we have is unmatched. So on that note our college is doing well with the syllabus as it is completed on time with a strong ma date from the management that 50 lectures of each subjects are mandatory for faculties to hold every semester.

Just Rs. 9,600 a year is our fees and some charges makes it to Rs. 12,000 a year. I do not think we will see a more affordable college for Law than this.

Faculties here have given freedom as I have written earlier that coming for lectures is not mandatory. Our faculties have told us to go and explore and maximize your talent. As Law is very tough, as many may not say that but now after four years and studying under the mentorship of some of the best faculties, I know what it takes to become a faculty of legal studies.

A stand-alone building is what our campus looks like. As soon as we enter the gate a small parking and right next is our building, which is both admin and academic block. The ground floor is for admin department and next 5 floors for classes as per year. The top floor is where our library and a small canteen are and a small auditorium, which is used mostly for the guest, lectures.

At the end of the day, it is a government college and plus more than half the crowd do not even come to college. Therefore, there are few societies and students are pushed to go for moots and our college also hosts some inter collegiate moot competitions. Coming to Flamboyant fests and all they are not happening in our college. Therefore, if somebody wants to study seriously our campus is perfect for him or her but those who want to have a chilled campus life then there are many private colleges in Kolkata.
