Overall Rating
The university is best for Agricultural Studies and Allied Sectors of Agriculture like B.Sc Agriculture Horticulture, Forestry, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry. I chose this university based on my personal interest in the university because it provides basic and fundamental knowledge about passion in horticulture. This university is different from other universities in terms of infrastructure, learning skills, innovations and a friendly environment for the students to progress for the better future This university is best known for innovation, skills and start-ups.
 

Academics Rating
Currently I am purusing Masters in Horticulture from this university and I have done my Bachelor's from the same university. My motive to join here is based on my experience and research oriented environment in this university. Entry requirements are university entrance test for the domicile students of Jammu and Kashmir and for other states, there is ICAR entrance test and JRF for the entry. There is other states’ quota and NRI quota for admissions. Exams are 2 in each semester, midterm and end term examination.
The fee in the first semester was Rs. 44,000 including security fees and hostel fees. From second semester fee is Rs. 24,300 including hostel fees per semester. This fee includes tuition fees, admission fees, and other charges. The fee is same for all no special discount for any category is there. University provides HADP fellowship scholarship to students, which is Rs. 5,000 per month. It is given for upto 4 semesters to Masters students.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty members are very sincere and polite. They teach students according to their needs with modern approach of teaching and learning. Method of teaching is through PPTs or group discussions. The problem solving ability of teachers is really good. The student-teachers bond is top notch as teachers are friendly in behavior and they have a broad vision about their specific subjects and provide one to one platform for the learning.
 

Placement Rating
There is a well established placement board for the placement of the students in different companies across the country and the globe; recently different companies did placement drives in our university like Reliance Bio Energy, HDFC bank LIC Pvt. Ltd. Syngenta Agro Chemicals, Bayer Bio Science Pvt. Ltd. etc. Package offered is 2 LPA to 12 LPA, based on job and skill of the aspirants.
 

Hostel Rating
There are well-established hostels for the students with approximately 300 rooms available. Rooms are well ventilated and well equipped with heating system, ACs, fans, internet facilities and clean and safe environment. Boys and girls have separate hostels and there is separate mess for vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is beautiful naturally surrounded by beautiful mountains, enriched with landscape. Campus is about 200 hectares. Classrooms are modern and well established. The library is open for all and has all the types of books. There are seminar halls, conference halls and canteens too. My favorite thing in the college is beautiful landscapes of the university. The university is aided with internet facilities, drinking water facilities, electricity, and laboratories.
 

Campus Rating
I love my campus life here at SKUAST Srinagar. The hostel too, provides a healthy environment for the students to live in and study for their dreams. Various festivals are celebrated here like Eid, Diwali, Holi, Independence Day, Farewell Parties, Freshers etc. This campus is dream campus for me, it enhanced my performance in studies helped me to live a better life.
