Academics at NFSU Delhi Campus: Teaching Staff, Exams, and More

My overall experience at NFSU Delhi has been quite nice and I am really enjoying my University life over here. One of the major factors which made me choose this University was its affiliation with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and the same being An institution of National Importance just like the IIT's and AIIMS. This University has strong links with various government departments in both the State and Central government which provides an extra edge over the others and many other extra opportunities which may not be available at other institutions.

I chose BBA.LLB (Hons.) with specialisation in Corporate Forensics, as I had always been interested in both Law and Business. The eligibility criteria for the same is 12th pass with any stream and the candidate must have qualified the CLAT exam. The admission process is based on the Merit of CLAT Rank. The exams over here are held in a semester format with each Semester having a mid semester of 50 comprising of both the internal 30 marks + 20 marks through written test and later on the end semester are held for 100 marks whose score is later converted to out of 50 for the final SPI/CGP calculation. The Academics over here provide insights to both the practical legal world and theoretical studies, which prepares a candidate for further real-life challenges.

As the institution is a government one, The fees over here is quite affordable with just Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 75,000 per semester, which reduces on reaching the senior years of the course. The University also provides special discounts and concessions/scholarships to students who belong to the SC/ST sections of the society.

The faculty over here at NFSU Delhi is quite skilled and experienced with some having prior experience of teaching at NLU's, JGLS, and Symbiosis Law Schools and with some being also the guest faculties at various universities abroad. The faculty members of the course, which I am pursuing mostly, belong to Law and Business backgrounds with many of them who were formerly distinguished professionals in their respective fields. additionally their also guest faculties who visit from international universities like The University of Pennsylvania, Universities in Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, etc. The teachers teach us through smart boards, projectors, etc. The faculty members are quite approachable and have good bonding with the students.

The University is having a placement and Internship Assistance Cell, which is quite cooperative at times of Internship periods, and any other assistance, which the students require. As of now there is no placement record as there are only 4 batches of law in Delhi and 5 in Gandhinagar Camped but it is assured that the placements will be great as the University already has tie ups with big government departments and corporate like The Bureau of Police Research and Development, NIA, CBI, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, PWC, Zeus Law Chambers, Khaitan & Co, Power grid Corporation of India, etc.

NFSU Delhi offers on-campus hostel facility for female students and the off-Campus for the Male Students, which is around 3-5 KM away from the campus. The hostels are having sports facilities like table tennis, badminton courts and open grounds and parks for the hostellers. The food is provided at mess and dining areas at both the hostels, which is quite fine and hygienic. The hostel fees are Rs 90,000 for the Air Conditioned Rooms and Rs. 50,000 for the non AC Rooms. The hostel allows entry and exit at all the times but not after 10 PM at night. The hostel authorities are quite strict regarding the security measure and both the campus and hostels are guarded by the CISF personnel which consists of trained soldiers and moreover the outsiders are only allowed after thorough screening and the consent of the students who are staying at the hostel

The campus is quite fine at size for the purpose of Academics, Sports and other recreational activities. The law classrooms have a seating capacity of around 100-120 students per Classroom and with some classrooms having a seating capacity of 40-60 students each. Each classroom has Aids like Smart boards and Projectors, Central Air Conditioners etc. The University has Academic facilities like a Separate Law Library, Seminary Hall, Auditorium, Conference Halls; Moot Court Room etc. Additionally the University also has facilities like a Canteen, Sports- Table Tennis; Volleyball; Badminton Court, etc. The University's responsibility for security is currently held by the CISF. I personally like the Air Conditioned classrooms at the University campus.

The campus life is quite fine as the university keeps on holding small events like Sports Day, fresher’s party, Garba Night etc. just to provide a little comfort and joy to the students. The crowd at the University is good as more than 80% of the students from the all the courses have good academic backgrounds. additionally the University also has committees and clubs like the Sports and Cultural Committee, Sports Club, etc.
