ADTU Guwahati's Computer Engineering Course: Fees, Academics and Others

It is has decent infrastructure and there are many courses available for the students. There are labs with equipment necessary for practicals. There is a library, which is very big. So my overall experience is pretty good. I chose to take admission in this university because there are better placement opportunities in here rather than any other university in Guwahati.

The course I have chosen is B.Tech CSE with specialization in Cloud Computing and Information Security. I chose this course because rather than taking an extra specialization and wasting 1 or more year in this field, I would prefer to study about it from the beginning only. The faculties are good, they help us to make our foundation strong in our field. The entry requirements are not that strict, all we have to do is visit the university and the administrative office will contact us shortly and will explain everything. In one semester, there will be two sessional exams of every subject and lastly the semester will end with practical (lab) exams, viva and semester finals. The first sessional will start after 1.5 months of class and next sessional will be taken again after another 1.5 months after one month the lab exam and viva and after 1-2 weeks later semester exam.

The fees for B.Tech CSE with specialization in Cloud computing and Information security is Rs. 75,000 per semester. We have to pay Rs. 40,000 for administration including other activities fee like sports, club, library etc. Rs. 30,000 for admission and Rs. 10,000 for security deposit (which will be refunded after course completion). Overall we have to pay Rs. 6,80,000. We don't have to pay the whole fees in one time, we can pay semester wise. There is also scholarship programme, before admission all we have to do is give an examination and we can get upto two semester fees exception.

The faculty members are very good, they help us in our preparation for exams and they also provide extra questions for GATE exam preparation also. The faculty members are well educated, like some completed their Master’s and Doctorate degree also. They share PDFs and E-books as materials and do group discussions in class. They also use projector and digital boards for teaching. The problem solving abilities of the faculties are good and they helps us a lot to understand the problems.

The placement cell in our university is good, they help us to prepare for our job interviews and also help us in getting internship opportunities. They organise a job fair and internship fair in the university. The average package offered is between 8 LPA -12 LPA. However, some have gained upto 32 LPA also.

Hostel facilities for girls and boys are given separately.

There are many blocks like A block for Administrative Office, Pharmacy and Nursing students. The B block for faculty of Computer Technology and faculty of Engineering, Hotel management etc. The examinations are help in B l block because there are labs for computer based examinations. C block is known form auditoriums and there is football field, amphitheatre, cinema hall for hostellers, meeting room, office room, Basketball, Badminton and Footsal fields. There is a swimming pool, yoga hall and gym too. There is a canteen for each block for students.

My overall campus life is pretty good, not anything to complain about. The crowd is lively in here. There are many clubs available for each categories like Sports, Drama, Dance, Music, Robotics, Gaming (E-games), Photography etc. There are many extracurricular activities for every clubs and department held. There is annual fest organized by the university every year in the month of February known as ‘Attitude’ that is of 1 week.
