DCAC New Delhi B.A (Hons.) Cut off is Around 725 in 2024

When I first got into DCAC New Delhi, I felt really happy as getting admission in one of the most prestigious Colleges of DU was overwhelming for me. The best thing of getting into this College was that I got to enroll myself into the course of my choice. The College offers various courses which are in high demand among the students. The College campus is not very large like other Colleges of North and South Campus but the College has excellent professors. Also, this is considered one of the best among all the Colleges of Delhi University for pursuing Journalism. The College offers a great practical experience for the Journalism students.

The course I am pursuing is B.A (Hons.) in Political Science. The course offers you 3 discipline specific subjects in each semester. The cutoff was a bit high. The students scoring more than 725 out of 800 (as per 2024) were eligible to get enrolled for this course. The preference list gets updated according to the score in the CUET. Once you meet the required score, you can get admission in this course. After getting selected in the College, the students are required to select the freeze option to get admission in the College. Then, the fee has to be paid to get admission in the College. The examinations are conducted once in every semester, and each year comprises of 2 semesters, which accounts for total of 6 semesters for the students doing 3-year course. The academics give you insights and knowledge regarding the Political and Historical events of both National and International level.

The fees for the B.A (Hons.) Political Science was Rs. 12,000/- per year. Apart from the tuition fees, separate amount of fees ranging from Rs. 1,100/- to Rs. 1,500/- has to be paid for the examinations of each semester.

The faculty of my course is great. The professors are well spoken and intellectually proficient. The professors not only focus on the theoretical studies, but also give immense importance to the practical experience which is crucial for the development of the students’ skills. The professors conduct debates, group discussions, and also give us assignments that are really helpful for the practical knowledge and enhance our communication & problem-solving skills. The teachers of the faculty are approachable and they pay attention to each and every doubt of all the students with equal attention.

The campus has 2 academic blocks where the classes are conducted. The size of the campus is approximately 5 acres in total with a built-up area of about 2.5 acres. The College is located in Netaji Nagar, New Delhi, near The Leela Palace. The nearest metro station is Bhikagi Cama Place. The classes are of average size but the furniture in some classes could be improved. The library is big and contains over 5000 books. The College has APJ Abdul Kalam Seminar Hall, a multipurpose hall where different events and programs are conducted. The canteen is moderate sized and offers food at affordable prices. The prominent sport played in DCAC New Delhi is Volleyball. The College security is great and the security guards are vigilant. The College also has stationary, a ground, a gym room etc. My personal favourite part of the College is the gym room as it is cooler than the classrooms. The College also has girls’ common room which is clean and helpful for girls. The media studio lab is very well constructed and equipped with all the facilities.

The campus is compact, peaceful, and good for walks. The College crowd is amazing. People are polite and welcoming. Apart from the studies, it has many professional and cultural societies which are important for the holistic development of the students. There are many fun elements organised in the College. There are many societies like the entrepreneurial cell, & cultural societies for dance, music, fashion, dramatics, poetry, etc. I am a part of fashion society. College invites influential guests for talk shows. Fests are organised by the societies are great. Diwali Mela was also organised in 2024. The College is overall good.
