My Journey at NLUJAA Guwahati: Growth, Opportunities & More

Overall Rating
The reason I chose NLUJAA Guwahati because of its beautiful environment, faculty are supportive not only motivates students academically but also encourage to participate in co-curricular activities. The environment is also friendly for differently abled students. Medical facilities are available, with a focus on both mental and physical well-being of students. Of course, like every law University, this university has its own pros and cons.
 

Academics Rating
To study here, students need to appear in CLAT. After joining, the university smart, and hardworking student will definitely do great in academics this is the basic knowledge. The course includes Law and Social Science subjects, enhancing legal understanding. Each six-month semester has two problem-based critical exams (mid-term and end-term). University includes MDC (Multidisciplinary Course) like Human Rights, Disability Rights, IPR, Health Laws, etc. Overall academics course prepared student for competitive exams, developed research, critical ability.
The fee structure for B.A.LLB (Hons.) is affordable compared to other NLU's. I pay Rs. 2,00,000/- annually, covering hostel fee, mess, admission & Registration fees, library fee, tuition fees etc. For students facing financial difficulties, University offers flexible payment timelines. Scholarship like MCMSS (Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship) and central government scheme are available to support, those students.
 

Faculty Rating
It has highly qualified faculty from top universities, with expertise in Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, Criminal Laws, Company Law , Property Law etc. Social Science professors provide deep insights into society, enhancing legal understanding. Faculty includes former NALSAR professor, IQAC director and Proctor cum Provost. Some of them have 40+ publications. Some faculty role as resource persons at NIPCCD. They're supportive, conduct remedial classes and approachable for clearing doubts and queries directly.
 

Placement Rating
NLUJAA Guwahati placement cell supports students in both internships and placements. In 2025, students received PPOs from firms. The university hosts placement programs on IPR, IBC events, and promotes participation in moot courts, debates, and publications paper. Member of Khaitan & Co. visited once in the university. The highest package remains confidential and undisclosed.
 

Hostel Rating
This University provides separate hostels for boys and girls, hostels with G+5 floors; girl’s hostel has approximately 18 rooms per floor, both double and single seater. Facilities include gym, mess, uninterrupted power with generators. Hostel & Amenities fee is Rs. 32,000/year; mess dues Rs. 40,000/- / years. Meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The hostel is anti-ragging, student-friendly, initially find tough to adjust gradually the supportive environment makes everything fine. Normal timing to enter into campus is 9:00 PM and hostel timing is until 12 AM for girls.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The academic building features smart air conditioning classrooms, moot court hall, digital tools, audio-visual galleries, and spacious seething separate girls’ and boys' common rooms. The campus size is 60 acres located in Amingaon, Halo, Assam. Library is located in the heart of the University, which compiles thousands of books and digital access, indoor game stadium, volleyball court, Seminar and conference halls at administrative block. There is small cafeteria. I personally love the natural environment, library-facilities are amazing and easy to adjust with time.
 

Campus Rating
I love my campus life. As I mentioned earlier, every University has pros and cons-nothing is perfect, that's up to us. NLUJAA Guwahati is peaceful and away from the crowd, ideal for students focused on personality and career development. I'm a member of Centre for Disability studies and health law and Centre for Legal Aid etc. University conducts cultural fests, spots, debates, moots, elections every year. Therefore, I am still working for my growth and personal development as many miles to go and I know won't regret choosing this one.
