GNIT Kolkata: Info about ECE Department

Overall Rating
GNIT Kolkata is among the top 10 private engineering college in West Bengal. This is the best engineering college for those who want to opt for B.Tech, B.C.A, B.Sc (Cyber security). Due to its budget friendly course structure, this college is different from other Engineering colleges in India. Here students can do engineering courses at very low fees. Also the faculty is very supportive and they try to provide industry exposure as much as possible. Here labs are well equipped and most of them are industry or AICTE funded.
 

Academics Rating
Currently I'm a B.Tech 3rd year graduate student. My branch is Electronics and Communication Engineering. Teachers of my Department are very supportive. The eligibility criterion of getting admission in this college is through WBJEE and JEE Main. Admission process can vary when the student is taking admission through management quota or counselling. Two unit tests are conducted in each semester. Many hackathons are also organized. Therefore, student is prepared for the competitive industry.
The total fee of my course is Rs. 4,50,000/- which is divided as Rs. 55,000/- per semester. If the student is from TFW category then his total fees will be Rs. 11,00,000/-. Admission cell provide scholarships based on the students documentation. College also accepts SVMCM and many other scholarships.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is very good and supportive. They provide students with industry ready skills. All the faculty members are Ph.D holders with good industry experience. I am glad to have a faculty like them. The teaching methods vary from teacher to teacher. But most of them teach on white or black board. They give us the real life problem through different projects and assignments and if we face any doubts, they guide us. The teaching ratio is 1:15. My faculty experience is very good.
 

Placement Rating
Placement cell of our college is very supportive. They guide us during campus placement drive. They provide different training and MSME courses from different ventures for free. Top companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc. visit in our college for placements. The highest package offered is 30 LPA from JUSPAY and average package is 6.5 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
College offers a hostel which is well maintained. Food quality is also very good. I am not a hostel student so I have less knowledge about this, but boys and girls hostel are separate.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our campus is a 4-floor building with big classrooms of a seating capacity of 60 students. College provides free WI-FI on each floor, library facilities, auditorium, smart class rooms, and seminar room. Our college has huge exposure to sports. We have two common rooms for girls and boys where we can play different indoor games. College has its own canteen where we get food at a very low price.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life at GNIT is excellent. I will recommend students to take admission in this college. College organizes a cultural fest where many popular singers performed like Antara Mitra, Atif Aslam, Fossils, and Anupam Roy. I love my college as I can explore several things here which I might miss if I had taken admission in any other college. My overall experience is very good.

    Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT) not only focuses on the academicals improvement of the students but also on the holistic development of each of its students.     My overall experience in my college in this one year has been good enough. Like any other student starting their college life, I was very much anxious about how it would be, whether I could fit in with the new crowd, how will I overcome with studies and coding and also have a social life.
