As Per NIRF Report 2024, YDU Mangalore Obtained 95th rank in 'University' Category

The reason I chose YDU Mangalore was that it offered education. As I live in Kerala and travel to Mangalore, the distance is short and comfortable. I have checked other Universities too but their fee is much higher and the academics were outdated. My experience here so far is good. The environment is peaceful and the University is good if you want to just study. If you’re looking for a University to party or celebrate then you have to look for other options but if you are looking for a University that will give you job then you can come here. As per NIRF report of the year 2024, the University obtained 95th rank in 'University' category.

The course I’ve chosen is Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech). The reason to choose this particular course is because it has limitless potential and opportunities. It is still discovering new ways or new possibilities and I'm kind of a computer geek. Entry requirements here, is passing your PU with at least 65%. The admission process takes time after you paid the fee for the first semester and admission fee; they’ll give you the receipt and tell you to come later and will give a date. The students also have to submit the required documents to the respective authorities.

The fee that I paid in YDU Mangalore is Rs. 1,00,000/- per semester which will be Rs. 2,00,000/- per year. The students also have to pay Rs. 25,000/- as an examination fee and the uniform fee. The University also provide discount to the students. To avail the scholarship, you have to score 90% in PU exam.

They are good teachers and they know what they are doing. The teachers who were not good got transferred to some other locations. The faculty members are very kind and helpful; they help us in our studies. Most of the teachers have done M.Tech. The teaching methods include PPTs, blackboard, etc. They also conduct extra classes for some extracurricular activities. The teachers are very approachable.

Yes, the University has placement cell. The cell promises that they will provide placement opportunities to the students and it is our job to get a job.

Yes, the University offers separate hostel facilities. The hostel provides great security and the food here is average. There are strict rules related to curfew.

The University has 2 campuses. It has three blocks such as A, B, and C. The campus also has a separate building for the faculty members. The classrooms are air conditioned; three students can sit on one bench. The restroom and RO water coolers are available in on each floor. The campus has 2 canteens, one is on the 4th floor and other one is on the 6th floor. The University offers sports facilities as well for games like Football, Cricket, Basketball, etc. Overall, the infrastructure is good.

The campus life till now is average. In my department, not much programs and fests are conducted. The University is strict. We have to wear our ID badge every time. The University organises various fests and events which are conducted in the other campuses. The crowd is not that huge and it is pretty chill. YDU Mangalore conducts various sports activities for the students who are interested in sports. There are clubs for students such as IT club, outdoor activities club, etc. Overall, my experience in this University is good.
