WIT Dehradun B.Tech Admissions are by JEE Main Scores

My experience in this Instiute has been a combination of learning, failing and personal growth. Honestly at the time of counselling it was my 7th (last) preference but I still got into it, quite surprising for me but gradually from the 1st day of my semester this environment has shaped me in ways I didn't imagine. Being an all-Women’s Institute and that too a Government Engineering Institute, the environment here feels genuinely safe, comfortable and supportive. WIT Dehradun offers good academic programs under a reputed Technical University. My Institute maintains a disciplined atmosphere that encourages sincerity and academic growth. Placement opportunities are gradually improving and students who are consistent with their efforts manage to secure good roles. Another reason why I love my Institute is their faculties, who push us through the hardships so that the students participate, take leadership roles and explore more and more opportunities.

I'm currently pursuing B.Tech from Women Institute of Technology, Dehradun. To get admission into my program, the basic eligibility criteria includes 10th and 12th in Physics, Chemistry and Maths & minimum qualifying percentage, usually around 45% - 50%, is required in the 12th Board Exams. Also, students need to attempt the Entrance exam which is JEE Main. The admission procedure is straightforward. After the Entrance exam one needs to register for the counselling process conducted by Uttarakhand Technical University. Once the seat is allotted, students need to complete the document verification, pay the admission fee and confirm their seat, the Institute then provides the details regarding the start of the session or Orientation.

In the 1st semester my fee was Rs. 56,000/-, in the 2nd Semester it was Rs. 46,000/-, 3rd Semester Rs. 48,600/-, 4th Semester Rs. 45,300/- and 5th Semester Rs. 50,100/-. Yes there are specific facilities and a management department for scholarship purposes. TFW candidates gets concession.

Faculties are approachable and supportive. They teach us with white board and marker and there's a smart board / interactive Flat Panel too. A feedback form regarding faculties is provided to each student every month so they can help improve the teaching methodologies in order to maintain the positive interaction between students and faculties. Currently, there would be around 500 students and 40 to 45 faculties in our Institute.

According to me, the Placements provided by Women's Institute of Technology, Dehradun is average.

There’s an Institute hostel which is managed by third party. With the permission of the State Dignitaries, the construction of the girl's hostel for WIT Dehradun has been started.

The Institute has smart classrooms with smart boards. Academic facilities are there including library, computer centre, seminar hall, common hall, sports, medical room and security also. Everything's good. My favourite part of the Institute is canteen because everything out there is super yum and budget friendly. As I am a hosteller there are times when I can’t find good breakfast, I go to the canteen with my friends and that makes my day.

The campus life is good. Yes, there are many clubs including Technical, Sports, Cultural, Digital, Literary, etc. Also, there's an IEEE community which organises the technical events like Hackathon, Quiz, Designing, and many more. Just to keep the interest going, cultural & sports events are also organised. The campus life is all about your friends and how you spend the day with them.
