CGC University Mohali Received University Status in 2025

So I joined CGC University, Mohali back in 2023. Talking about the course curriculum, it is also good as they teach us about AI and Data Science & also the concepts related to it. The University receieved its University status in 2025. The main factor that made me choose this University is its reviews, so before I took admission here, I read the reviews which are pretty good and when I entered the campus the reviews proved to be true. This University has a lush green campus, good faculties, excellent infrastructure, and good placements so this makes it different from other Universities.

Currently I am pursuing B.Tech in AI and Data Science and I'm in 3rd year. The main motive for enrolling in this course is that the AI field is growing day by day and to be with the trend I chose this stream. The entry requirements are pretty simple like you have to score 60% aggregate marks in your 12th boards along with that, admission is on the basis of JEE Main. There are two mid semester tests and after that there is a final exam at the end of each semester. There are also scholarships which are carried forward on the basis of your CGPA. The course curriculum helps in preparing for the real World challenges and also they give real industrial exposure, so that I can be a good industry fit.

My current fees per semester is Rs. 64,150/-. This is the tuition fee amount, when I took admission I had given Rs. 2000/- extra which is the registration fee. So there are many scholarships which are based on 12th marks, state scholarships and JEE Main score.

The faculties which teach here are highly educated and experienced. Mostly the teachers have a Doctorate Degree with them. The teaching method of the teachers is also good as they believe in practical work more rather than teaching on boards and PPTs. The teacher to student ratio at the University is also nice. In a class of 60 students there are two sections, each section has 30 students and also the they assign them a mentor so that they can share their problems which they are facing. The teachers here are also friendly and the bond between teacher and students also good.

The Placement Cell at CGC University, Mohali is active as they train students for good Placement. They start teaching the students in terms of Placement from the very first year. They have DCPD classes which have many subjects like Technical subject and Personality development subjects & reasoning, so that the student can qualify the test easily. Many companies visit the campus for Placements. The highest package on campus is 52 LPA and the average package is 5 to 6 LPA.

Yes, the University offers hostel facilities and have separate hostels for boys and girls. Currently, there are five hostels in the campus for boys and girls. Talking about food the quality and the hygiene, it is good The hostel fee depends on which type of room you're taking as there are 2-5 seater rooms, There are AC rooms and Non AC rooms. The cost of 5 seater rooms is around Rs. 1,15,000/- per year. The hostel rules are pretty strict as whenever you have to go for outing, you have to take permission from your parents. They give you hostel passbook in which you have to take the sign of the wardens before leaving the hostel. I stayed for about two years in the hostel and my experience was very good.

The campus offers you a lush green environment along with a good infrastructure. They have separate blocks for different courses. The campus is about 60 to 70 acres. In each block there is a separate library, seminar hall and a common auditorium. There is canteen, sports, medical, transport, security and other facilities too. There are also many shops in the campus from where you can buy your essentials and have food.

The campus life of the University is also very good, I made many friends. The crowd is also increasing every year but currently the crowd is not too much. There are many clubs in which you can join like Technical Clubs, Non-Technical Clubs and Sports Club. There are many fests which are organized every two to three months which makes the campus life more interesting and more fun. Overall, my experience in this University is excellent.
