University Maharaja College Jaipur: A Decent Institution

Overall Rating
My overall experience at University Maharaja College, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur has been decent, with a mix of positive and average aspects. I chose this College mainly because it offers affordable fees for courses, along with the reputation of it being a part of Rajasthan University. The academic environment is stable, and I was able to make good friends. However, the infrastructure and placements still have a lot of scope for improvement.
 

Academics Rating
I chose the BCA course because I wanted to study Computer Applications at an affordable price and this College offered a reasonable option for starting my IT journey. The entry requirement was simply passing 10th and 12th, and the selection was based on merit list prepared from board exam marks. There is one mid-term exam during each semester followed by the final semester exam and the exam pattern is easy to moderate. Overall, the College provide a decent foundation.
The fee structure for my course in this College is fairly moderate compared to many other private Colleges. One good thing is that the College provide access to various Government Scholarships for eligible student, including MHRD Scholarship and other State/National schemes.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty for my course is generally good and most teachers explain the concept clearly. Their teaching style is simple and easy to follow, and they mostly use white board during lecture. The College also has a functional Computer lab. Around 120 students are taught by one teacher. My overall experience with the faculty is normal, neither too exceptional nor disappointing. They do their job well.
 

Placement Rating
University Maharaja College, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur does have a small Placement or IT Cell. However, it should be more active.
 

Hostel Rating
The College offers hostel facilities, but I am a day scholar.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of University Maharaja College, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur could use some improvement. The library is one of the better facilities, with a good collection of books. There is a small canteen too. Other required amenities amenities are also there at the Institution.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life in my College has been good for me, mainly because I was able to find a nice group of friends. On most normal days the campus stays less crowded, which makes the environment peaceful. The College has many active clubs like Ojas and Anant. The College also organizes an annual fest called ‘Aquaregia’, which is one of the main events where students participate in cultural and fun activities.

    Its name and great faculty is the main reason that inspired me to take admission here. If you are from science stream it might be the best college for you. The reasons of choosing this college include its campus life, placement facilities, infrastructure, and its renowned image.
