St Aloysius College Jabalpur has a Placement Cell

St Aloysius College Jabalpur was near to my place, the campus is bit small but okay.. There is no chance to bunk the College as the teachers are quite flexible. The teachers are good, exposure is decent. This College is known more for its discipline and strictness rather than studies as well as is quite popular in Central India. It has recently been accredited by NAAC. The crowd is diverse as you will find average students, top scorers, some students who never come College except for exam days. Overall, the College is decent for studies, has better facilities for sports, and also provides career counselling.

I opted for the course in B.Sc, I would recommend you to join because: practical exposure is good. It is a Private College so no entrance exam is required. The admission process is also simple you can apply online as well as can visit the College for counselling. The pattern of exams is as such, there are 3 CCEs (sort of class test) in each subject and 1 Practical CCE. The marks of the best 2 CCEs are added in the final report card and after CCE, there are final exams and practical exams. For real life challenges, the academic preparation is average, the knowledge is practical, but not much inclined towards application.

The fees of my course are around Rs. 16,000/- to Rs. 22,000/- per year for the B.Sc course. Fees can be paid in Installments & in total 4 installments are there for a year (2 for each semester) per year. Other fees are: registration fees which ranges around Rs. 300/- to Rs. 1000/-. Other charges may include lab charge depending upon the department and Exam fees, which is applicable through the university. The Government Scholarships are there & they depend upon the eligibility. As for the College Scholarship, it is for Sports Quota students who have acted in sports get better discount of 10%, 30%, and so on, depending upon the level of tournaments they have played. The Government Scholarships covers the whole fees (not including other fees).

The faculty members are supportive to students. The faculty members are mostly Ph.D holders. They teach through interactive session. They explain very well. Some of the faculty members are excellent researchers have the most clarity in their concept and their subject. They consider themselves as learners. The teachers opt for different methods of teaching they can use smart boards, something can make the class more interactive on a known topic letting everyone express and share their opinion, the class can sometimes transform into games. The problem solving abilities of facilities is quite decent. They are quite good with their knowledge and provide students with opportunity to learn and grow and develop the problem solving skills. The teacher to student ratio depends upon the year and department for 1st year, it may be around 1:30, for 2nd year, it remains nearly same and for 3rd year, it is quite good 1:5 (depending upon the department). The faculty members are quite approachable. They are friendly and let the students express themselves in the fullest and allow them to perform although they supervise and sometimes become strict but it is for the good.

There is Placement Cell in St Aloysius College Jabalpur which is quite active for the Commerce department. While talking about Science Department, not much placement opportunities are available The Placement Sell organises, seminars, session train teach students to develop soft skills. The highest package for B.Sc goes around 1.5 LPA to 2 LPA.

The College has hostel facility. There are also many PGs and hostels for the students who study in this branch of College. The girls' and boys’ hostels are separate. The mess food is also fine. There are hostel rules and timings are too strict as it is a disciplined College.

The campus is quite small but it is located at a very good place, which makes its accessible. The College has canteen, sports room, as well as good amount of security guards and CCTVs, which ensure students’ safety. The entry regulation in College is quite well managed. The College too has a library, which has many books of every aspect that you want to find. Overall, if your aim is to study the College is good.

Overall, the campus life is decent (not too amazing not too boring). The crowd is quite heavy at the College and it increases during fests and exams. Sometimes the teachers have to vacate the students whose schedule is not there. There are clubs such as Nature club, which aims to motivate students towards nature and its importance, and many other clubs. Fests are regularly held with a certain motive to either aware students or to engage them and develop them and make them learn something new like team management group learning. Different departments organise different sorts of competition which is open to all students irrespective of their department, year etc. The College celebrates festivals too like Diwali, Christmas as well as a yearly annual gathering is also celebrated where all the students are invited and performances take place. Talking about my experience, I have learned from the atmosphere, teachers, and students too.
