My Personal Views on NMIT Bangalore

Overall Rating
Overall, it is a decent Institution. Extra-curricular activities take a hit. For CSE, clubs like Solvify and NMIT Hacks provide good exposure but you need to network with seniors to grow in the clubs else you will be avoided. Many National and International companies visit the campus. Attendance-related policies are strict here.
 

Academics Rating
I chose CSE due to my interest in Technology & Coding. This Institute was allocated to me during KCET Institute counselling sessions. Admission is through NUCAT (Nitte University Common Admission Test) and Management Quota. The course has 2 to 3 mid-semester exams and one semester-end exams. In addition, there is couple of Learning Assignments (LA) throughout the semester.
If one gets CSE through NUCAT, the annual tuition fee is around Rs. 3,45,000/-. Fee for Management quota students can go upto Rs. 8,00,000/-. Additional charges may include university fees, Anadyanta (Institute fest) and others. The Institute provides SSP scholarship (Government-funded) as well.
 

Faculty Rating
The CSE teachers at NMIT Bangalore have varied backgrounds &v some are really experienced. Most faculty members use PPT. Teacher-student ratio is around 1:70. Faculty approachability is good. Many teachers are pursuing Ph.D degrees. However, in the end, it is how you utilize the opportunity. You can get research papers published easily under guidance of the faculty.
 

Placement Rating
NMIT Bangalore has a dedicated Placement Cell i.e., Career Development Cell (CDC). We are prepared for placement right from our 6th semester .. The average packages are generally around 6 LPA to 8 LPA. The placement experience is very competitive as a whole.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the Institute offers hostel to both boys and girls. There are only 2 and 3 sharing rooms. Special meals are arranged during festivals. Hostel fee is around Rs. 1,14,000/- to Rs. 1,15,000/-, depending on which hostel has been allocated. Mess fee is around Rs. 50,000/- per academic year. Honestly, food is average but there are many canteens in the campus other than the mess.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The Institute has a well-maintained campus with separate academic blocks, classrooms, labs, library, seminar hall, and auditoriums. The campus is spacious but located far from the city. I am a day scholar so it takes 2 hours to reach the Institute. Classrooms have adequate seating capacity and are equipped with projectors and AC. The Institute provides computer labs, libraries, sports grounds, and buses. The greenery & peaceful campus environment are some of the best features.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is an average. The campus environment is decent. The student crowd is diverse, with many students actively participating in technical and cultural activates. Various clubs provide opportunities to improve technical skills and gain experience. Overall, campus life depends largely on individual involvement, with clubs and events offering good exposure.

    I joined NMIT Bangalore on the basis of good review and I can say that I am pretty satisfied with the institute. There are many facilities in the institute.     I have chosen NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology over all colleges in Bangalore because NMIT provides about 95% placement every year and average packages of about 8 lakh and highest package is about 32 to 35 lakh.     The college is well known for its name and it is positioned A+ in NAAC. The college has a decent well developed infrastructure and in terms of greenery and ecosystem it is doing well.     Overall, the college is quite good. The labs in the college are maintained very well, and all the labs are equipped with latest technologies and software. The faculty is highly educated and Almost 90% of the faculty in the college is holding Ph.D degree.
