AP Shah Institute of Technology is doing very well at offering state of the art technical education. I had a great fun here with all the events. The courses are well structured and some of them are new. The faculties are good at teaching. Before the start of the college, I thought that this might not be a good college for technical studies, until now, when I am in my third year of engineering, I learned the entire system of the college and it feels good to be a part of it. I chose this college as and because of its popularity in the Thane region. It is a very well reputed college over here. Many of my friends too were taking admission here due to its prestige and it also over came our cut offs for the admission seat. My father too knows some of the faculties here and we took advice from them before taking admission. They told us it will definitely be a great choice for me.

There are six departments in AP Shah Institute of Technology. I am in the newly formed Computer Science and Engineering with specialization in Data Science branch. Since, I have always loved playing with numbers; my love for mathematics brought me to my destiny of the data science branch. Our branch has many courses such as statistics, mathematics for intelligent systems, machine learning, algorithms, etc. I want to be a data scientist and thus I am here to take advantage of the opportunities given by my college, and bring an impact with my statistical skills. Our branch conducts many sessions and workshops on these skills and helps us to understand the leverage science of Data science. I took admission in this college through my percentile obtained in the JEE Mains exam. But most of my friends took admission here with their CET exam marks. I was looking for securing my seats before hand, thus I took admission through the management rounds, which were conducted by the college itself.

Our college has a good experienced and proficient team of faculties that always figure out ways to unlock the hidden potentials of our sub conscious minds. They have an insight of every student. They know our strengths and weaknesses and thus are able to back us up every time we need them. The faculties of our department have some old faculties from other departments such as the computer science and also some new recruits with an in depth knowledge of this domain. They all have a good aptitude for handling mathematical as well as statistical complexities. Some of them have their PhD degrees with specialization in Machine learning, which is one of the most important or core part of our branch. The lab sessions conducted by them gives us the freedom and the skills of critical thinking and problem solving. I love the algorithm course the most, as it has a lot of logical as well as coding skills to gain. My teachers help me in my projects of coding and encourage me to participate in various coding competitions.

Yes, we have a developed training and placement department. That has the responsibilities of proper placement of students. Companies like TCS, Reliance, Infosys, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, IBM etc. come for recruitments. The department advice students on career options and provides the most relevant and latest information on the companies and their job profiles. They help us in enhancing our employability rate by providing us by training sessions of aptitude and soft skills.

No, there are no hostels or residential facilities in our college.

Starting with our library, which is situated on the third floor, it has around 30000 books. It also has facilities of e-books and national journals and newspapers. There is a large seminar hall where all the presentations and talks are delivered by the chief guests of several events. A big Saraswati statue is implanted on the entrance of the main gate of the college to bless us with her knowledge. Every day when I go to the college, I feel the vibes that the goddess creates and showers upon us. There are many computer labs with parallel seating arrangements and also sometimes quite strict arrangements when our lab examinations are conducted there. It has a main smart board for the faculty. The class rooms are large and spacious. The class rooms have an ID card punch in punch out system for attendance. There is a canteen on the ground floor. There are labs for chemical activities and some for mechanical department which have huge machineries kept. There is one main ground on the campus, besides the main building, where we play football in our free time. There is also one indoor games room. I have a great time with my friends on the campus.

We have a festival named as the Techfest which provides a platform for students to present their innovative ideas in front of the entire engineering community. Similar to this, is a national level paper presentation of two days held in the campus, where students and professors from all over India come. I am glad to announce that in my second year, I won the best presenter award at this event and my parents and college were very pride of my achievement. Other technical fun games are conducted like the Mathletes for math lovers like me, technical quizzes, and other brain storming games too. Ojus is our main annual cultural and sports festival. It is a one week festival conducted in the campus and students are very interested in participating in these events. I participated in the dance competition last year, with my dance club members from the college. Other social activities like Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and the national service scheme is also implemented.
