Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology B.Tech Review By Pinku Das

I took admission to this college in 2019 in the ECE branch through JEE Mains. Earlier people had to give BCECE exam conducted by Bihar Government to take admission to this college. There are a total of 38 engineering colleges in Bihar to which you can take admission through JEE Mains. MIT Muzaffarpur and BCE Bhagalpur are among the top colleges. Earlier people were coming through the BCECE exam but now people are coming through JEE Mains so things are improving a bit. There are some clubs in as well like Moxie, Junoon, Finance Club, etc. From time to time some cultural events are also organised. If I were to compare 2023 with 2019, then I'd say that things have improved quite a bit and more and more good students are coming into this college, especially girls as the government has increased the reservation for girls.

B. Tech and Pharma courses are available here. The branches in B. Tech are CE, EE, ME, ECE, IT, Bio-technology (newly added), and LT. My branch is ECE. I chose this branch because I had to choose a branch from which I can go to the IT sector as well as I can prepare for exams like GATE, ISRO, DRDO, etc. Many students prepare for the GATE exam here as GATE is the best option for colleges like these.

The teachers are good and all of them are qualified. Some are GATE-qualified and some are BPSC qualified. Some teachers are more friendly and some are not which is usually the case in every college. If you maintain a good relationship with the faculty then you are going to have a good time and if you don't then things can be bad for you.

There is a placement cell at our college and it takes care of the placement opportunities. There is a company called Alstom that comes every year offering CTC of 6.5 LPA and it is the only good company offering placement. The rest of them are just factories looking for laborers. Although the students here are talented and take off-campus placements in companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, etc.

There are hostels provided here for each year. The first-year hostel is on campus and the rest of them are outside campus although not far away. In the first year, there are 4 people in one room. In the second year, there are three people in 1 room. In the third year, there are single rooms available but only if you get good grades and the rest of them have to live 3 people in 1 room. In the 4th year, everyone gets a single room. Mess is provided each year.

MIT Muzaffarpur was established in 1952 and since then it has come a long way. The infrastructure has improved a lot. It gets a lot of funds from the state government to improve the infrastructure. The oldest building is the main building where the classes of CE, ME, and EE take place. The main building is big consisting of AVH Hall, Academic Section, etc.

The campus is big enough which is a plus point for the college. There are two big grounds available on the campus. One is the main ground and the other is the football ground. There are some small grounds where students play Badminton and Volleyball. The main ground is very big and students play cricket quite often here. There is a canteen on the campus as well which serves tea, cold drinks, biscuits, etc.
