Ramaiah Medical College MBBS Review By Pushkar Gautam

I joined Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore in the year 2020 and it was the first of my choices when I had decided I would be joining a medical college in Bangalore and thankfully I got admission in the college. Initially I had just known the college by hear-say, my relatives, friends had always spoken about Ramaiah with very high regards and I came to know that it was all right once I joined the college. It has been around 3 years since I joined Ramaiah and I won't say it has been all ups but for sure the learning experience has been awesome.

Being an MBBS student it is very important for us not only to be thorough in theory but practical too. The exposure we get here at Ramaiah is very good for us to learn everything not only by reading but by seeing everything through our eyes. The clinical postings we have been attending are so beneficial that I never skip a day. The professors, PGs, and interns are extremely helpful and allow us to learn things by ourselves which is of prime importance. The classes are very interactive and fun and hence I can say that the academic of Ramaiah is one of the best. The labs are well equipped, there are cadavers provided (1 per every 15 students) which is probably a very good ratio.

The teachers here at Ramaiah have been very helpful from day one. They have always made sure that we feel at home. During the first year we were handled like saplings (literally and figuratively). The teachers put in their 100% for us to learn everything they are trying to explain and it is very helpful for us as students. During the second year we were introduced to the clinical setting and it was very swift. We went for postings, learnt everything and it was very aptly correlated to by our professors. The faculty here is very knowledgeable and has helped us grow through the years.

Hostels are not the best but yes they become worth staying if you have your friends with you. It is really a fun time when you stay at the hostel. The staff is very helpful and cooperative but yes the mess is not good at all. But eating outside is the option that we have found out to be the way out.

Infrastructure here is quite impressive. The campus has two huge hospitals, one is the teaching hospital where we as students go, learn and are taught by the Doctors whom we idolize. The second hospital is the Memorial Hospital which is a sight to behold. I haven't seen a hospital as big as this. The patient inflow is very good and we get to see the cases which we are theoretically taught. The medical college is built pretty well and classes for MBBS, BDS, and BPT take place here. There are 2 hostels for girls and 1 for boys. The college holds all the facilities required for us to learn and have a good time.

It is a 70 acre campus in the middle of the Bangalore city. It holds Medical college, Engineering college, College of Pharmacy, Dental college, College of Nursing, Law, Social sciences, MBA, and much more. The fests that we have are Intros and Promethius. Intros is the intra-college fest whereas Promethius is an inter-college fest and trust me on this that it is a vibe during fests. The activities, the shows are just too good to not to be excited about. Then there is New BEL road right in front of the main entrance which has everything college going student dreams of to be around his college. There are clubs, pubs good restaurants, play zones, gyms, and everything we require to stay busy and chill. All in all it is a perfect location.
