CMR College of Engineering & Technology is a top engineering college of the CMR group. It is situated in the outskirts and there is a bus facility available. The College is affiliated with JNTU, but it's an autonomous college, which prepares own question papers apart from the JNTUH for exams. It has been awarded A+ from NAAC and has NBA accreditation. It also has an acceptable fee structure for the course. Our college also has different club activities to improve the students' outdoor and indoor skills. There are clubs like photography clubs, cyber security clubs, and dance clubs. I chose CSE and I am pursuing diploma. Overall the college is good and systematic.

I'm a Computer Science student. The syllabus is similar to other autonomous colleges. To join this college there are two modes; you can either write the EAMCET exam, which is a state-level exam for Telangana and ECET for diploma candidates or you can join through the management quota. If you score well in the entrance exams then chances are that you might get some concession in the management quota. If the rank is below 1,000 for ECET and below 10,000 for EAMCET there is a chance of getting free seat in the college.

When it comes to the faculty, you'll find good teachers. You'll find teachers who have an abundance of knowledge. Stay in touch with such teachers; they will help you excel. You'll find teachers who don't know anything about the subject. If you get one, study on your own. As I said, you'll find both types of teachers. Some teachers have experience of 40 years; they joined teaching after M. Tech and even B. Tech. In short, don't depend on teachers to study on your own. And, if you get a good teacher then its surplus and there are many professors for teaching subject and labs with full of equipment required for the experimental procedures and they teach the students with the practical sessions and there are many industrial visits for the students.

The training and placement cell is most actively run by the students of the college. Training and placement cell is really good and responsible. They make sure that they provide you with everything you need to get placed in a good company. You'll find product-based companies like Amazon, Wipro, Capgemini, and mass recruiters as well like TCS. The highest package I'm aware of was 58 LPA for the most recent batch. And, the average package is 4-5 LPA. Almost 70-80% gets placed in companies. If you want a good job get in touch with good seniors and teachers and they'll help you out throughout. And learn as many skills and build the resume for the good placement. College provides a lot of trainings for placements, technical placements, as well as soft skill training. So, you'll never face a problem in terms of placements. The college provides campus recruitment training for the students to avail for the high package job opportunities.

As I'm a day scholar, so I never stayed in the hostel. But according to my friends’ opinion, the rooms are big and spacious. 4 beds are placed in a room, common washrooms, and mess is there. I heard the mess food is sometimes good and mostly average. The entire hostel is hygienic. But, the rules are strict. Gates are locked at 6 pm. You cannot use your phone outside your room, Wardens are strict as well. I'll suggest that you go for some private hostel. The hostel fee is around Rs. 72,000 and it keeps increasing every year.

The total campus of CMR Group of Institutions is around 75 to 100 acres. Among these, the CMRCET is spread across 10 acres. There are 3 blocks and a new block is built for the new courses. Block one is for the 1st year and the MBA students. Block two is for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students. Block 3 has an amazing library, gym, and fitness room. There's a canteen where you can find pretty much everything. There's a small coffee point, a juice point, and an ice-cream point. There's a stationary shop as well within the campus where you can find all the services. Auditorium is common for all the colleges; it has a capacity of 2,000 students. It’s a big auditorium and all the functions happen there. Apart from it, CMRCET has a small auditorium for 500 students and is used for functions and fests by everyone. Classrooms are pretty decent; most of the classes have a whiteboard, a screen, and a projector. Laboratories are equipped with the newer technology. In most of the labs you'll find equipment is adequate and very safe and secure. There is Wi-Fi available for the classrooms as well as labs.

When it comes to the social life, then hardly one or two fests are organized in a year. So, there is no fun apart from the studies. College keeps organizing guest lectures and a lot more. College’s aim is to get you placed in a company and you'll find a lot of guests and alumni lectures. You’ll find a lot of different workshops and seminars. College keeps collaborating with other organizations. There are movie promotions and other things as well but mostly in their regional language. There are clubs, some are active, some are inactive, depends on the admin.
