Chaibasa Engineering College B.Tech Review By Devashish Mahto

The college campus is at Chaibasa – Jhinkapani Road at very scenic view. The campus is located at a small mountain so we can easily have a very beautiful view of the local villages and it is quite eye pleasing. One thing I must mention that students have to do a lot of hard work to reach the campus because the main gate is at the bottom of the mountain and the campus building is at the top of the mountain.

I am currently pursuing the degree of Mechanical Engineering since 2020 in this college. One can apply for this college in two ways, one way is to apply through JCECE Counseling exams, and another is through donation. The college has 5 degrees namely Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. I had interests in Mechanical Engineering so I chose to do it. The eligibility criteria is only you have to pass intermediate with a science background and the document required is the passing certificate of the intermediate degree.

The faculties of this college are very friendly as they are just like friends with whom you can discuss the problems you are facing. The drawback that I fell is that they take classes very less frequently and they do not take the lab classes so often. The Head of the Mechanical Department is very friendly with us and you call him anytime and discuss any problems that you are facing.

Chaibasa Engineering College has 5 different buildings for 5 different departments and our Admin Block has a different building. One thing I don't like about the buildings is that the washroom facility is not that much good, sometimes the tap water is not working properly. There is a central library also present. Overall the college infrastructure is really good.

One can have a lot of fun in Chaibasa Engineering College. We didn't have the proper playground but then also the college conducts a volleyball tournament and cricket tournament every year. The college also conducts fests every year, be it a Tech Fest or a Cultural Fest. The only thing which is not that one of the great things is that you have to climb up every day to reach the campus.
