NIT Manipur Overall Review

Overall Rating
I am the first PwD (Person with Disabilities) student at NIT Manipur. The placements at NIT Manipur are good and the faculty is also very supportive. Being a PwD student I find the infrastructure not so good and I hope that in future it will be solved. I chose NIT because of the placements it offers. The jump in the NIRF ranking from 108 to 95 has been incredible. I am very happy to come here.
 

Academics Rating
There are 5 courses of B.Tech here namely Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering, and Civil engineering. Entry requirement is that you have to clear the required cut off for the specific branch you want in the JEE Mains examination. I personally prefer choosing Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication because both of them have good placement opportunities.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty at the university is really good and they teach very well. They have modified material to make study more interesting and knowledgeable. Almost all the faculty members have completed PhD from institutions like IIT and NIT. The teaching style is very good. I appreciate the fact that they make any hard topic quite easy to understand through the materials that they provide.
 

Placement Rating
The placements of NIT Manipur are very good. The recent highest package was 47 LPA by Amazon and the average package was 7.6 – 9.4 LPA. If you are well versed in coding, then your average package can be 11 – 14 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostels at NIT Manipur have all the facilities that are needed by a student like Wi-Fi connectivity, water purifier, big and small playground, and indoor games like table tennis, carom, etc.
 

Infrastructure Rating
To be honest the infrastructure is not that good as it is good for everyone but for me it is difficult to go to class because the road is broken from everywhere. My wheelchair gets stuck in these and I face a lot of problems to just go to the class. I hope that in the future it will be resolved and any PwD student that comes never faces any sort of difficulties.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life was overall good. The campus is built near a mountain so you can go there for roaming. Seniors are very nice and helpful towards the juniors. There are many clubs at the institute such as Coding Club, Dance Club, Singing Club, and many more. The institute has a fest called Ougri and it is the biggest fest of NIT Manipur. A lot of money is spent to invite artists to perform during the fests.

    I chose this college because it's an NIT, as a NITian. We have our benefits in terms of placements, etc. NIT Manipur is at 95th position in NIRF ranking.     My college is overall a good place for engineering students, apart from a few things which pissed me off such as inadequate infrastructure, unresponsive management, etc. The location of my college is amazing alongside the scenes and views.     My experience at NIT Manipur is well going and I am enjoying this place since it is surrounded by nature beauty from all sides. Administration and academics is very strict here. Since my JEE rank is around 38,000 so I got ECE branch here by CSAB counseling. Here placements are going well on-campus and off-campus and currently this year (2022-2023) about 149/170 students were placed.
