Amity University BJMC Review By Charu Mitra Chauhan

Overall, my college life was over my expectations. I formed a new family over there. Faculties, batch mates, seniors, juniors were all like the branches of same tree and the fruits were the bond that we were connected with. I never thought that I would be enjoying my life this much, when I applied in Amity University it was more like I want to excel in the subject and accelerate my career but also, I got some lifetime memories to remember. The University and the course made a big impact in my life, I would always be thankful to all the people who were part of my life during the course.

Academics like we all know are the backbone of an institute. The course I applied for is BA Journalism & Mass Communication- 3C. This course is an international program. In which a student is taught about 3 countries Republican i.e., UK, USA and India. In this course, there's 6 months visit to UK & USA for better understanding and being thought by the foreign professors and know well about the field of journalism in their country. The eligibility criteria are very simple 12th pass from a well-known board can apply. If the candidate secured above 85%, he/she is directly admitted and if the student secured below 85%, he/she have to go through some interview process for the admission in the particular course. As this course is for becoming journalists its motive is clear. Also, the course provides a wide range of career in different fields i.e., PR, Graphics designer, author, photographer, videographer, etc. In this course, about 66 subjects are taught all based on a different career.

The faculty of the course was well known professors all working with some good media houses and were highly educated. Mostly professors were the anchors and retired journalists from reputed news channels. Faculties were friendly and provided full support both during and after the class. Their teaching style is mostly practical. They wanted their students to be more connected with the real world of journalism than rather being a book insect.

Placements are the most important part of an institute. As they help the universities to rank top and compete with other institutions. Our placement cell used to be organized every 3 months, they used to visit the campus and students were allowed to get interviewed for every media house they wish to join. As our mostly faculties were from biggest media houses we got a benefit of it and placements were held in right manner and time.

Yes, hostel was there in our university campus only. But I was not the part of it. I visited few times with a friend, and I got mesmerized by the facilities in the room. Laundry, washrooms, desk, bed, AC were all in its right manner and it was more like a 5-star room hotel i.e., clean and hygienic. Not only the rooms but the halls were like crystal clean.

Amity University Noida campus is located in many acres. It is the biggest campus comparing to the other amity universities in different cities. It has different Blocks for all the courses. Cafeteria, hostels, arcadia, musical halls, sports corner all the located nearby each other. The campus also has brands showrooms for shopping so that the student can get whatever is needed inside campus like, burger king, dominos, CCD, and others.

Overall, I really enjoyed my life in the campus. It was crowded like a festival is being celebrated. Every day was anew interesting and different from the previous day. I celebrate every day of my life with the people I had and memories i hold with them. Nothing compared to that life makes me happy now. Various singers used to do shows in the campus, celebrity visits etc. were part of the fun that were conducted occasionally. As an Amitian I have lived a life that's beyond the words, I can’t express as it’s a feeling can only be felt.
