Shri Ramswaroop College of Engineering and Management offers both graduate and post-graduate courses in the fields of engineering, computer application, and management. This college is definitely a great choice if you want to get into engineering or management fields. It is situated on the Lucknow-Faizabad Highway, and the campus is surrounded by lush greenery. It aims to provide quality education to its students and train them to have an easy transition to big companies in the industry.

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and are qualified by JEE or UPSEE scores are admitted. There are many clubs for students with all different types of interests. One great thing about this college is that there is equal emphasis given to academics and extra-curricular activities. Overall, I would consider this the best private college affiliated to Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University.

This college has definitely trained me to be a very hard-working student. I used to think that college would be a breeze, and I could fly through it like school. However, this college prioritizes attendance and gives regular assignments. As much as it was a pain to get them completed, I am thankful for the opportunity. It made me learn what I know today, and it helped me improve myself. Currently, I am working, and the strict attendance and deadlines that I faced in my college really helped me in my college to work-life transition.

Studies are important in this college, but the one suggestion I have for you is to explore the technology here as well. There are many hands-on opportunities which are provided, and this will supplement the knowledge which you obtain in your day-to-day classes. In the initial years, more focus is given to theoretical subjects in the syllabus. However, by third year there are a lot more hands-on opportunities to increase practical knowledge in the field that you choose to specialize in. There are also opportunities to participate in academic research work along with professors. In a nutshell, the college gives more value to academics than any other thing and that’s the reason why the college students have excelled after graduating from this college.

The faculty in this college include professors from a variety of specialties. The educational experience that our faculty has is spread over a wide range. Some are highly qualified and some are fresher just now starting off their teaching role. Regardless of their experience, the teachers work hard to help each student. The one thing I recommend is to approach the teachers. They have many students which they oversee, and may not be able to give personal one-on-one mentorship if you don’t approach them first.

The dean and principal in this college are like no other. They are very helpful to students and are very approachable. The backbone of any college is the faculty, and I can vouch that the faculty here at Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering and Management truly fulfill that role.

This college has a placement cell which is headed by Mr. Manish Sharma. He is the Director of Training and Corporate Relations of this college. To prepare us for the placement interviews set by the placement cell, we are given the opportunity to enroll in summer workshops, projects, visits to companies. The major recruiter of this college is Tata Consultancy Services. Some of the other companies which come for placement interviews include Amazon, Mahindra, Wipro, HCL, Essar, and Infra States. One thing that helped with my placements was a subject in my first semester of professional communication. This subject helped me develop my interactional skills. Regarding the engineering placements, they are outstanding for Computer Science jobs. However, they are only satisfactory for mechanical engineering jobs. This is one thing you can keep in mind when deciding on a college to enroll in.

The average package which is offered to fresher is around Rs. 3-4 lakhs. Do not get discouraged though, because the growth rate in these fields is associated to the experience. Once you join in a company, you can work on getting the experience and training necessary, and the money will follow.

There are two hostels which are for boys. One is called Dr C. V. Raman Hostel, and the other one is called Dr. Radha Krishnan Hostel. There is one girls’ hostel which is called Saraswathi Girls Hostel. The caretaker for this hostel is Ms. Prachi Mishra. There are separate dining facilities for each hostel. The mess committees are the teams which decide the menu for the hostels. There are pros and cons to staying in the hostels. The positives include the proximity to the college and being surrounded by friends. Another useful point is that the hostels are supplied with uninterrupted electricity.

Both of the hostels have water purifiers and regular hot water supply. Facilities included gymnasium, library, and Wi-Fi can be availed upon request. There is also security at both of the hostels all day long. The main complaint of staying in the hostels is the food quality. However, this is a complaint in many hostels around India. Nothing can compare to home-made food, right?

This college has many facilities. These include a computer centre, a library, a mess, hostels, a gymnasium, a conference room, seminar halls, a medical facility, and a meditation centre. The computer centre is connected through the LAN and it can be used 24/7. The speed of the network can go up to a whopping 200 Mbps! There are a total of 17 libraries on campus. These include two branch libraries, thirteen libraries in the departments, and two libraries in the hostels. You can come here for all of your textbook needs! The collection of books in the libraries ranges from various subjects including civil engineering, electrical engineering, professional communication, and computer applications. It is open from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 7 pm.

Some of the other facilities available are a Bank of India on campus, which is useful for any banking needs, common rooms for assignment-related work, and a Xerox facility. The Xerox facility is very handy because you don’t have to worry about traveling outside of the campus for any of your printing needs. The security workers at this college are hired from a good security agency. Coming to food, the college has a good canteen. The nice thing about it is that it is open even until late in the night, and you can come here for some refreshing food and beverages. If you are an avid gym-goer like me, you will love that there is an on-campus gym at this college! The equipment here includes treadmills, stationary bikes, suspension trainers, and stretching machines. There are also weights which can be used for strength training. There is a weight and fitness trainer as well as an aerobics trainer at the gym.

I would say that the campus life at this college is good. Campus life is definitely something that I have been missing after graduating, and especially during these pandemic times. In my opinion, the top-notch factor of campus life in any college is the clubs it provides. SRMCEM has a variety of clubs which students can be a part of. They include Choreography Club, Photography Club, Fashion Show Club, Artsy Crafty Club, Sports Club, and Cultural Club. You can see that there is a wide range of clubs available. My recommendation is to definitely get involved in one or more clubs from your first year itself, as it is a way to build connections and lasting friendships with people who have similar interests. One special opportunity that students in our college get is participating in the Association for Computing Machinery - International Collegiate Programming Contest. If you don’t know what that is, it can be compared to being like the Olympics for programming. Basically, it is a team-based programming competition that is conducted in over eighty countries around the world. It is a prestigious event to be a part of.

Apart from coding, our college is also known for robotics. We compete against several IIT universities. One unique cell which this college has to give students a better campus life is the Student Welfare Cell. This cell consists of a team which assists students with various issues including answering queries on mark sheet-related issues, providing certificates of character, providing bona-fide certificates, and assisting with any travel related issues. Another team which helps to relay the students’ issues and concerns to the management is the Students’ Senate. They collect information directly from students, and relay it to the management once a semester. This helps to increase the quality of campus life, as it provides a platform to address any grievances students may have. Overall, campus life is as enjoyable as you make it!
