The experience at NIFT, Mumbai

Overall Rating
I think NIFT Mumbai is a good choice when it comes to design and fashion colleges in India. I chose this college because I wanted to opt for Bachelors in Fashion Technology, which is a 4-year course. My overall experience at the campus is good only and I think others should come to this college as they would get to learn and find a lot of opportunities for their future as well.
 

Academics Rating
If you have had PCM in your 10+2, you can apply for this course. The forms come around December and the exam is held in February. If you are someone who wants to learn the technology and management side of fashion and the back side of the industry, you should opt for this course. In a period of 4 years, you will get industry ready.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties in B.FTech teach us about the management/technology/production side of the fashion industry. Their style of teaching is practical rather than just theoretical that can be seen even in the assignments which are included in the curriculum. They take us to industry visits, field visits and craft clusters where we get to learn a lot of things.
 

Placement Rating
We don’t have a Placement Cell exactly, but the professors and the faculties help the students to prepare them for the on-campus placements that are held in college.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls. You will get a single bed, a Godrej almirah, table and chair and a balcony in your room (AC if you opt for an ac room). The hostel includes mess and gym as well. The girls’ hostel additionally includes induction room and parlor.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is constructed within an area of 12 acres. The campus has an old building and a new building namely academic block 1 and academic block 2 respectively. The college has a Resource Centre which has an extensive collection of books for students. The labs are Wi-Fi equipped and even each classroom has smart boards.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is lively. There are two fests that happen in NIFT, namely Converge and Spectrum. Converge happens around November every year and Spectrum happens around January every year. Each and every festival is celebrated in the campus which is a really nice thing. There are different clubs such as sports club, film club, cultural club, etc. which organise various events to make the campus livelier.
