NIFT Mumbai Campus Experience

Overall Rating
I come from a textile background, so I had my own interests in this particular field. This course offers a mix of fashion and technology as well as management in which I am interested. Within India, NIFT is exclusively offering this course as compared to other design institutes. You should opt for this course if you are interested in this field only.
 

Academics Rating
For particularly B.FTech, you need to have PCM in your 11th and 12th. Students from other streams cannot apply for this course. If you want to specialize in apparel technology/management/product development in your future, then only you should opt for this course as it is related to both fashion and technology.
 

Faculty Rating
In B.FTech, the faculty has a rich experience in their field and years of experience as well. They all have ample of practical knowledge and make students industry ready during the whole duration of the course. They are mainly from the textile and apparel backgrounds and their style of teaching is in a very practical manner rather than theoretical.
 

Placement Rating
We don’t exactly have a Placement Cell, but the faculties help the students to make them industry ready and acquire jobs.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls. Boys’ hostel is within the campus and girls’ hostel is at a 10 minutes’ walk from the college. You are provided with a single bed, an almirah, dressing, table and chair in your room. Gym and laundry facilities are available as well. The hostel food is decent but not that great.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is within an area of 12 acres. There are 2 blocks: academic block 1 and academic block 2. There are different departments and each department have their own floor and space. The college has Wi-Fi equipped labs as well as an amazing resource center which has an extensive range of books where you can read as well as issue from the RC.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life at NIFT, Mumbai is good. You get a lot of opportunities within and outside the campus to explore more. There are different clubs and societies in college that organise and manage various events in college such as cultural club, photography and adventure club, film club, literary club, sports club etc. The festivals and events are really nice and fun.

    I think NIFT Mumbai is a good choice when it comes to design and fashion colleges in India. I chose this college because I wanted to opt for Bachelors in Fashion Technology, which is a 4-year course.
