KC Law College LLB Review By Ashray Mishra

KC Law College is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and has all the ingredients that make it one of the best colleges if one wants to pursue legal studies. The college location too is great as I could boast against all my friends who used to study at some college in suburbs that I travel town daily. The college used to organize events from time to time and kept us engaged through activities that were held all year round. All the activities were organized to enhance and develop students’ knowledge and skills. The best part of the college was that most faculty members were top-notch lawyers and they are passing on their knowledge to the students. Honestly that gave a lot of insight on how the law system works and how to fill the loopholes that exists in our law system. We were given enough practical exposure and that helped me shape my career after I passed out from this college.

Starting with the classrooms they were all huge and properly ventilated. The strength was high but only 60-70% students attended all the classes. The attendance was strict but still people didn’t care and the college to did nothing than giving them warnings. The best part of the KC Law College is that it has moot court rooms inside the college campus and that gave us a practical knowledge of how we will be working in the future and handling the cases. Many colleges don’t have such big moot court rooms like the one we have at our college. Academic department of KC Law college has been rated highly and that is because the way they teach their students.

All the faculty members have served at various top law firms and the kind of knowledge that they bring on the table is unmatched. Their energy is great and always makes sure that they keep the mood light in the classrooms. The notable lawyers are our faculty members and therefore the student’s errors are caught immediately. I was corrected whenever I was wrong and likewise each and every student at KC Law college was given the same attention. The faculty members always encouraged to join as an intern during the vacations and they themselves get us placed if we asked them to. Thus faculty was quite helpful and made sure that we become a top lawyer someday.

Many top law firms of Mumbai city used to come at our campus. The annual packaged that was offered was in the range of Rs. 4-10 lakhs. Very few bagged offers worth 10 lakhs and the average was near Rs. 4 lakhs only. As a lawyer we were taught that it’s a continuous process and that to make a position you will have to toil hard for years and years. We were taught all of this in the college and that is what has worked in my favor after passing from the college. The college has shown us the direction and if we implement that the KC Law College students will become one of the best lawyers in the country.

This is a sad part. I stay in Kandivali and imagine had to travel 1 hour daily to reach Church Gate and that too during morning. The campus hardly has any area left where they can build a hostel but they can at least arrange one. There are many good hostels and PGs around the college and that is where the outsiders and some locals sacked up. The rentals are just too costly in the area and therefore staying at a far off place is a better choice. However, if you want to save the rent, you will have to burn yourself in the 6am local.

The college has 2 buildings. One is the main building that offers Science and commerce courses. The law college has a separate building and is built as per law studies requirements. A huge moot courtroom beckons in the law college building. A sacked library where we can have as many law journals that we want. A neat and clean campus. The college has water coolers and bathrooms on each floors and a nice little canteen that served delicious food. We didn’t have a playground or gym at the college but the interior was modern and the classrooms are high-tech.

The law studies make us aware of our rights and that was the reason why I chose legal studies. The college life gave me social and mental strength. The college hosted various fests every year and I participated in most of them. The law fests were one of the best as that was the best learning curve during my time at the college. I made a lot of friends and used to do case study after college hours in the college campus itself. We had access to moot courts whenever required. The internship submissions and great friendship between teachers and students made life awesome at the KC Law college.
