Presidency University is the latest University entrant in the illustrious list of Universities that are already established in Bangalore. I was fortunate to be a part of this University in its very first year as a BBA student. The college has now made a mandatory entrance test for the course fortunately it wasn’t in place when I joined the college. The college is located on the airport road and has a nice scenic view. It took me 2 hours to travel to college daily and likewise for many other students too. After 1 year of travelling, I decided to stay in college hostel which was better than my house for sure. Yes, the fees was high and has gone up even higher in last couple of years but was great without a doubt.

After failing to get admission in my desired college, I took admission in this college and was surprised as the course which is supposed to be simpler was more complex than engineering. We were taught that we are here to study management studies and by no means it is going to be easy. For BBA where all the colleges have 4-5 lectures a day, we used to have 6 and plus the practical more often than not. The college lasted for some 8 hours and plus 2 hours traveling either way made my life hell in the first year. As soon as I relocated to hostel, I understood the value that this university has brought in as there were many activities in place at the campus and an overall development of the student is what University firmly believes in.

The faculty was hired from some of the top universities and the experience they brought with them was remarkable. The faculty members were cool but strict at the same time. There was no escaping as the faculty made sure that our batch will be giving the feedback and therefore, they tried too hard to make sure that we work hard so that we pave way for University to flourish. Thank God they did as I was exhausted after B.B.A. and there was no energy left in me to continue studies. However, I have still managed to make a career even with a B.B.A. degree and I would take this opportunity to thank all my teachers.

220 was the strength during our batch and mind you 200 of us had the placement and that at the companies that we actually wanted to be a part of. The stock market was on the rise and glad I was pocketed by ICICI Securities with whom I am still working. The other companies that hired B.B.A. students include KTK Bank, Mindtree, and Aditya Birla Money among others. The average package was around Rs. 3-4 lakhs and we did gave a tough competition to Christ University of Bangalore as the highest package that was bagged by one of the student was Rs. 12 lakhs. One can get placed at a top corporate even if they just do B.B.A. from Presidency University.

As of now there is just one boys and one girls hostel. One new hostel building is on its way and the hostel is outside the college campus. We were provided bus facility to reach the college campus. The hostel rooms were just like flats as they were fully furnished and cupboard, study table, attached washrooms, and Wi-Fi. There is also a common TV room and some independent rooms that are left open for students to have fun. Each floor of the hostel has cold and hot drinking water facility. Indoor games facility is also available at the hostel. The dining area was so clean and served some of the best cuisine.

I have no idea where to begin with. A 64-acre campus that is full of life and has all the facilities that one can imagine of. The library at Presidency University is well stocked with books of all niches. As a student we utilised the library services to the fullest. All the classrooms were air-conditioned and spacious. There are 2 seminar halls as well and they are also air-conditioned. Not just outdoor but the University has also stacked up its campus with some indoor sports facilities as well. The auditorium at the campus is so huge that it can easily accommodate more than 1000 people at a time. Below the auditorium a huge CCD was opened when we were in our final year. Besides CCD there is also a cafeteria that serves South and North Indian dishes. The campus also has a couple of ATM centers. The campus also has a hospital inside the campus. There are many more facilities and I think I can just go on and on.

The best set of classrooms that you can find in Bangalore. Trust me I have connected with various college students and no one even come close to us. The campus size and the good cafeteria made the life full of fun at the campus. The sports events were hugely awaited and so were the exams. I am thrilled even today that I was among the first batch of the college.
