Amity University Kolkata BJMC Fees Structure 2026 & Admission Process

I joined the course, BJMC, i.e., Bachelors of Journalism and Mass Communication. You can join the course no matter if you're a science, arts or commerce student. You need to pass the entrance exam and the interview. The written exam will be an amalgamation of general knowledge questions, some simple maths questions and grammar. The reason to join this course is that you'll get to know about several aspects of Journalism and Mass Communication in details. You'll learn everything new and absolutely different from whatever you've studied in your school. The course will provide you a fresh and interesting experience. The course subjects are really good. Semester wise you'll be taught different subjects. Some of my favorite subjects are - advertising, marketing, public relations, TV production, etc. But one problem is that some unnecessary subjects like - Behavioral science and foreign language subjects (either French or German) will be included in your academics. These are compulsory subjects. Moreover, this course will help in boosting your career and straightforwardly, it'll help you in fetching a job.

The first two semesters focused on mainly theory. We had to study in details topics like ethics, law, and state politics. We got opportunities to work on graphic designing and photoshop in our practical classes. In the later semesters, the theory portion was reduced and we were given more assignments and projects to apply whatever we learned in our theory papers. COVID drastically affected our academics as we had to attend classes online. Many of the practical papers were reduced. Field trips got cancelled. Online classes were stressful. Since our exams were held online, the paper pattern also changed. The pressure of assignments and class tests was huge. During my internship, I worked long hours and enjoyed working on graphic designing. I have picked up important lessons on social media which I think will be useful when I start working.
