N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research PGDM Fees Structure 2026 & Admission Process, Mumbai

The syllabus was following the Mumbai University pattern. The classes used to start at 8 am and lasted for 5 pm in the evening. I was staying in Goregaon so hardly stayed after that in the college and rushed to catch the local. The schedule was a way too hectic and even on Sundays the management used to call us and conduct extra classes. Seminars were conducted almost every month as many businesses, sporting, and Bollywood personalities visited our college and shared their experiences with us.

The college gives the highest mettle to studies and therefore the attendance were as compulsory as anything. Students were not excused and once you join this college means forget the social life for the next 2 years. The course was divided in 4 semesters and had 7-8 subjects in each semester. I don’t know whether I should say this or not but some of the subject were totally irrelevant but were still included. The professors though did a great job to make sure that they finished the entire portion on time.

The managerial skills enhancement program through some of the most advanced classrooms and labs was the way at Dalmia. The course works in tandem with theory and an equal amount of practicals. The case studies were epic as we were given those on an individual basis and also in a group basis. Forming a team and working on the same criteria gave us a feel of how we will be working as a team. The guest lectures were organized and industry stalwarts including Neeta Ambani were one of the personalities that gave guest lectures during my time. All this was surreal as this would have never been possible in Kolkata. Academic excellence numbers of Dalmia are the best in 2-tier B-Schools. The class timings were such that I couldn’t afford to leave beyond Borivali because there was literally no timing. Sometimes the last lecture concluded at 10 pm. This is all because management studies are demanding and it’s like work urgency in an office where you don’t have a choice but to work. All this was a drill to make us prepare for our future endeavors.

The college is affiliated to Mumbai University and it didn’t matter as the college introduced their own subjects and that kept us occupied even on weekends. If that was not all the guest lectures and industrial visits made sure that for 2 years we are in a way married to N. L. Dalmia. The teaching methods were more advanced than many and attendance, Oh my Word. Even if you have skipped college for 2 straight days, you will get calls from the faculty. The college was way too strict in this regard and there was literally no escape. I believe college did that in the best interest of the students and I don’t think me or for that matter any students can thank college for that. Academics were the front runners but that doesn’t mean we were not allowed to do anything else. The college also gave us the chance to explore the other fields as well but without harming the studies.
